Catback - perrin 2.5 catback exhaust (non resonated) vs greddy sp supreme
Hi, I am new here, just got my frs 2 weeks back and am going to buy a catback next week. I did a search and couldn't find an answer to my main questions directly so I thought I would ask. If this has in fact has been asked before I am genuinely sorry for bugging you guys. I have narrowed my main choices down to the perrin 2.5 catback exhaust non resonated or the greddy sp supreme catback. (Both 304 stainless / high quality which is also important) I am looking for something that you know is there but isn't obnoxious or droany. From what I have read the resonated perrin is a little too quiet hence my non res choice. I will only be doing a catback and maybe a cai down the road but nothing else. In a perfect world the sound I'm looking for is the supersprint / ark grip sound but those systems are pricey enough that my wife would kill me in my sleep if I got either. So my question is between the perrin or the greddy, short of any other / better suggestions from you, what would give me something closer to the supersprint or ark sound wise but also remain within my specified wants (little or no drone but still tastefully noticable) I am open to other suggestions also so fire away. Speaking of the supersprint, that seems to have a higher italian exotic sound so If you guys can recommend something like that I would change my tune. In Canada either the perrin or the greddy will run me 1100 - 1300 ish so I will not go more than that cost wise. Again, there are thousands of exhaust threads and I am sorry for making another when it has been covered a million times but I am new to this and really want to make the right choice for me but being so new to this I would rather consult all of you who know a hell of a lot more than I do about this! I did check the exhaust sticky with all the clips but I am asking because a lot of you have heard these in person. Thank you so much in advance for the help!!!!

Have you listened to the sound clips on say speed factory's exhaust buy pages with a quality set of headphones?
I too am looking at the greddy unit, the perrin and the speed factory. I don't want anything too loud. I am leaning towards the greddy exhaust because the 4.5'' tips seem to fill the holes better. All have that slash cut, angle cut, double walled look, so it comes mostly to sound too. Looking for something classy sounding if that makes sense, so I would go resonated on all. More pics anyone? |

I'm in the same boat. I go back n forth between the Perrin 2.5/3.0 Resonated. Also considered the Greddy but for some reason the shipping cost for it is much more than the Perrin. $94.00 for Perrin and Greddy is $200.00!!! Shipping to Hawaii is expensive. So I figured I might as well get Perrin since the total cost for Greddy would be about equal to Perrin cost. Greddy weight is 70 lbs! I may just take up the offer of a member who's in Honolulu to listen to his 2.5.

Get the Perrin 2.5 inch. No need for 3 inch unless turboed. Worth every penny. Had a full Catless Invidia N1 setup. Sold the N1 and bought a Perrin 2.5. No drone. Still super throaty.

I debated between the Perrin resonated 2.5" vs the Invidia Q300 with a straight front pipe. Ordered the Perrin and patiently awaiting arrival.

I have the Greddy Supreme SP and it's quieter/more mellow than the Perrin. Hope that helps.

I think you must be right because every video I have found of the sp has like a hatless header and downpipe, and it isn't that crazy loud, so with just the catback it must be quiet.

I went full 3" exhaust with uncatted UEL header and it hurts my head! I'm now looking at the SP Elite 2.5" exhaust, but I'm not sure if keeping the header will still be too loud.
