I ordered mine online via DMV, how long does it typically take to arrive on the mail, (appointment card, stating it's ready for pick up). & what is the process? This is my first time ordering a custom liscense plate. Ordered the Legacy plate, have always wanted this. 😊

You have to go into the DMV and swap your regular plates for them, i made an appointment.

The current wait time is around 4-6 months because everyone wants legacy plates.

If you have AAA membership you can order the plates at a AAA office and skip the DMV line next time even without an appointment. I think I spent 5 minutes picking up my plates back in April.

Edit: the reason for the long wait is because the prison in Folsom CA can only make so many plates in one day. Around 50k total and about 2k of that are specialty plates.

I ordered one as soon as I got my brz earlier this year. Literally took 12 weeks... or maybe a lil more. But every day I checked my mailbox lol... until one I came home from work 4pm, and the dmv notice was in my mailbox. I knew it was the accepted mail cause it was a small letter rather than a normal dmv letter.

It says it was ready for me to pick up ... I checked my dmv when is the closest appointment. Earliest I can book was 3 months, I was like F that. So I drove to the DMV at 4pm which is a no no in my area. I sucked it up and stood in line and waited for about 2hrs before they closed. I was too excited to get my plates... So basically, I got the letter that it's ready. I went the same day to DMV and got it.

*PS ... ordered mine end of Feb and I didnt get it until... late May?

I've been so jealous of the cali legacy plates. They just look so good, especially on black cars. I wish we had them here in michigan

What plates did everyone get?

My wife's car reads TRFY WFE.

I also have ZERO MC. GRAYZIN, 69KOMBI (in blue/yellow), and probably a few motorcycle plates as well DRZ SUMO, CHPFTW (I think I let that go with the new owner, doh), DESMO (or something similar). These were all kept after I sold associated vehicles

That'll be a lot of digging through FB pictures, but I'm sure we have one somewhere. My phone's screen took a dump, so waiting on my new Pixel 2 XL. No phone until then, or I'd just take another pic.
