Talking Trans/Diff Fluid.

So. i know there seems to be multiple threads and discussions on fluids and what not. but since now people have owned these cars for at least 5-6 months gives people time to feel what the fluids will do and how they feel after some milage built up.

my questions are as followed for people with over 5000 miles on the fluids they swapped.

What is the best Transmission fluid?

What is the best Differential fluid?

Would using 00w-30 be better than 00w-20?

ive heard some people say Motul is excellent, but then i have heard others say its no good for the trans. likewise with Redline.

i dont want to put anything into my car that will not be healthy for it.

so just want some feed back on the topic, now that people have racked up some milage on these fluids and people who have tracked with it.

thanks again for the responses and im glad we have a good strong community.

btw, im currently at 700 miles and would like to flush all the fluids after the break in is over.

the problem is, there are too many people saying ive used this and ive used this. and what they used in their previous cars. im not looking for that.

and most of the threads are people who changed it at 1200 miles and no updates afterwords.

also i dont feel like reading people arguing for 15 pages. i guess nm then cause everyone just says search. obviously i searched and didnt get the answers im looking for. that is why i ask.

What do you want to know? It's hard to say there is any "best" fluid. i like Motul but unless you have tried many different fluids in the same car you can't really make a statement to whats best and even then different drivers have different needs.

You just started a thread to have those 3 points re-hashed again. Read the others that you found and make a decision. Oil choices are like opinions and assholes - everyone's got one.

If you are that worried about it just get the stuff from the dealer.

i should rephrase whats the safest fluid to use that wont destroy the internals cause some have stated that motul would eat the insides away or something but i here also great things about it. im just nervous. its my first brand new car. and i dont want to put something inside that would make it not happy.

I have an auto trans and will stick with OEM fluid for it but with a manual you have more options, honestly if you aren't having any problems with the stock stuff and just want to clean it out go back to OEM.

Using thicker oil will not offer more protection.
Thicker oils cause loss in MPG and make you go slower, thats about all.
FM added oils are a waste of money.

I swapped the rear end fluid for Redline 75W85 about 10,000km ago. I've had no issues and none of the noises that others have reported. I plan on changing it yearly.

I changed the trans fluid at the same time and went with Redline's MT-90. I had no issues with that until temperatures started to get near freezing in the morning. Things started getting stiff going from 1-2, or when trying to get into 1st or reverse from a standstill. I have since switched the trans to Pentosin and it works great.
