Paint dont crack unless it was hit. It happens all the time. Now with that said subaru always had alright paint job, they use very thin layer

Can you post a better pic instead of the thumbnails!?! Image upload doesn't seem to be Firefox friendly.
I saw the first pic in full res and I would definitely bring it back to the dealership.

Someone hit you, our you backed into something. Those are from the bumper cover flexing and causing the paint to crack.

That appears to be a lack of flex agent in the paint (post distortion). I'm thinking someone nudged you a bit to reveal it though...
Sorry dude. |

Its possible there wasnt enough Maddog in the paint to give it flex, or it was old, but highly doubtful on a brand new car. Either way that had to be inflicted by something hitting it. Could have been a car, luggage, asshole walking by(worst case scenario) but theres definetely been contact. Worth a try talking to the dealer, but your insurance company will be your next call.

I see a ding in the rear tow hook cover. That's probably where the impact was.

At least the rest of your car looks fresh I might have a mobile painter that can get this done for you though. I'll keep you updated.
The other suggestion I have involves you living with it. Get a clear bra applied on that trunk opening. Would prevent cracking in the future and 'hide' the damage little bit. Last edited by Reflections; 06-28-2012 at 12:09 AM. |

I don't know what you mean by "on facility" or how insurance claims differ in Canada but if someone does a hit and run in a parking lot and I have full coverage (which I'm assuming you do) my insurance company will take car of it minus deductible of course. You should look further into it.
