Cricket Killer, Injector lube ?

Didnt know what to put this under but i found that this was more mechanically related than lube related.
I use nothing but 94 oct 0 ethanol fuel and do get light crickets pretty much all the time, but now im starting to hear a light ticking noise when going tru the underground parking at my place, so being ocd i checked exhaust leaks etc.. only to link this noise to the injection cycle.
My question is , its a question to know you all's opinion but i will be doing it anyways regardless to opposition i would just like to know if anyone has had luck with this yet.

2STROKE OIL . yes 2 stroke oil in your new cars gas tank, has anyone done this yet ? (in their 86) in the equipment we run either powerpacks or even down to our work trucks we have allways put some 2 stroke oil in the diesel fuel to lube the injection system, all the big lifted trucks driving around here blowing back smoke prettymuch all run 2 stroke oil in their fuel, alot of the VW TDI guys swear by it.

Downside, ive allways owned a sled and allways a 2 stoke (mainly rotax ski doos) and can confirm that 2 stroke oils have a very large difference brand to brand in terms of deposits in the pipes and on the piston, any generic cheap oil is gonna stink and cause black deposit in pipes and pistons BUT fully synthetic ester based oils seem to keep things like brand new yet they drip out the pipes meaning they do not completely burn. My favorite brand is IPONE strawberry scent . amazing oil you could run lean and overheat like mad this oil and the Motul Snow are the best ive run, alot of the other oils seemed to either stink or foul plugs when it warmed up outside and started running richer having jetted for the cold.

That being said i will be trying a 2 stroke oil for this problematic mechanical injection system, and it will be a ashless 100% synthetic , prob the IPONE strawberry scent :P Mix prob 20-25ml to 50L(1-200-250) pump gas. Ill update this as soon as a go tru the tank of gas and confirm the results , but pls share if you or someone you know has had good or bad experience using this method of lubrication or any other method for that matter, hearing this chirping is something that only brings to mind a metal on metal wear scenario in my mind and i can see it being bad in the long run, sure hi pressure direct injection circuits allways make noise but to make more noise than the valve train ?? my ecoboost truck was DI and was very silent for that matter so are alot of other DI vehicles.... im not bringing this car to the dealer i know ive allready screwed my warranty so i want alternatives to prolong life of this beast

I have also run nothing but 94 chevron gas from coquitlam but don't have crickets. It's probably a manufacturing process error somewhere along the line that causes it. But I have no idea if 2 stroke oil / gas is a good idea.

Ive been using nothing but Costco's 91... occasional crickets if I have a low tank of gas. Once I fill up, they go away

Quite a few people are using 2-stroke oil to quiet their engines
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21980 (among other threads)

I've started using it as well. Ashless (TC-W3) is supposedly better since it's meant to leave no residue. People have had success at ratios as low as 1:1000 (50ml per tank), others are sticking with a 1 oz/5 gal ratio (approx 1:600). I'm still on my first tank at 1:750 (~70 ml/50L) and it's working well. The engine is much quieter overall and crickets show up much less frequently and are quieter when they do.

aha ok im not putting 2 stroke oil in , i was actually a bit steep into a case of beer when i wrote that it really sounded like a good idea , i dont have loud crickets but they do come and go. i have however solved a problem that has been lurking around me ever since i got the car, that is CHEVRON 94. i will make a seperate thread , but all i have to say is that when its a good batch it does tune like a 94 BUT there seem to be more bad batchs than good, i now run vpower 91 and seriously didnt have to detune all that much , just slightly pull back on ignition and afr is great. i will be running OCTANANIUM from VP fuels its coming in tomorrow, then im going to dyno next week after my oil cooler install, my 91tune vs my 94tune that i allready had (with the VP additive) and a new tune to take full potential of the VP additive which is supposed to yeild 96oct and it does have lubrification properties that are good for injectors and such.if this doesent quiet down the injectors i bought some redline fuel additive, its does feel slick, so im sure it will help ill only add a bit, quite the cocktail. this should be interesting.

I've used 1-2oz of Lucas smokeless low ash 2 stroke oil in a full tank of gas many times before and it completely silences the crickets for the duration of that tank. Do a search and you'll find many others here use it with the same results and no ill effects. Just keep the concentration really low and you'll be fine.

im going to wait and see how the VP additive works, if as advertised it does lubricate and clean injectors, if it doesnt work i have redline fuel additive, which is supposed to lubricate the upper cyl and clean / lubricate injectors, i will only go small doses, if still doesnt work im putting some ashless 2 stroke at a very very thin ratio no knowing how it will affect the VP stuff as well, the switch from chevron to shell might help as well.
