Combined with JR SC and dyno tune.

Does this work:
P&L Motorsports Equal Length Header w/catalytic converter
P&L Motorsports Overpipe
P&L Motorsports Front Pipe w/catalytic converter
Perrin 2.5" Resonated Cat-Back Exhaust System

If we leave the three P&L components in place, what other quality exhaust would be quiet(er)?

I have this exact setup, cats included. Cruising at <4k RPM is not loud, but it's enough for people to know you've modified. WOT is plenty loud, but definitely not the loudest, so you should be fine keeping within noise limits on a track.

I have the same setup as well - videos from in car on a group ride last year if you want to know what it sounds like in-cabin: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRp8nYUcA3M"]Subaru BRZ: Fall Colors - YouTube[/ame]

Thanks! That's valuable feedback. I know that it will be next to impossible to stay really quiet below 4k RPM given the three P&L Motorsports components, but I would like to get a muffler that keeps everything as quiet as possible.

I wonder if Invidia Q300 would be quieter with this setup.

@P&L Motorsports, @FT-86 SpeedFactory, Perrin, Invidia, customers, installers, other vendors, anyone else - which would be quieter on street below 4k RPM and not go above 90db or so at WOT?

Taking these as a baseline:
P&L Motorsports Equal Length Header w/catalytic converter
P&L Motorsports Overpipe
P&L Motorsports Front Pipe w/catalytic converter

And deciding on the muffler, between Invidia Q300 and Perrin 2.5" Resonated...or something else entirely that's even quieter...please advise, thank you

Even standing next to a car with jdl catless header, invidia op and catted fp, and q300 it was super quiet. If you stood behind the car you could hear it. @frs_matt has video somewhere. He switched from the q300 because he could not hear it in the car. Even with all the other stuff.

Great, thanks! I found this post from @FR-S Matt that compares the two:
"...The Perrin resonated 2.5" is a bit louder than the Q300, but not by very much. Very tame DD friendly systems with 0 drone."

It looks like Invidia Q300 is what I'm looking for

It's a great looking and sounding system. You really can't go wrong with it. I'm really impressed with both Invidia exhausts for our car.

Found another one - HKS Legamax:

Wonder if this is quieter that Perrin 2.5" Resonated and Invidia Q300?

Considering that the HKS costs almost the same as both the Perrin and Invidia systems combined... I'd pass on that.

Considering that I'm already looking at an over $20k investment in total (SC, BBK, Ohlins, etc), and that the primary use of the car is a daily driver, I would like to pick the quietest muffler even if it costs a few hundred dollars more.

Having said that, which of these three is the quietest below 4k RPM?
HKS Legamax
Invidia Q300
Perrin 2.5" Resonated Cat-Back Exhaust System

It appears that I am looking at about 90-95db WOT and I would like to stay closer to or below 90dB at WOT if possible, but not a must.

Anybody has dB charts comparing stock to Perrin and Invidia? I found one for HKS and it looks pretty close to stock before WOT at high RPMs.

I can't comment on actual db readings, but my Perrin 2.5" front pipe (catted) + resonated cat back seems to be more intrusive at about 2000-3000 rpm at medium throttle inputs than high revs at WOT. That's probably because at WOT you're expecting noise, but high revs at WOT it's barely louder than stock from the inside.

It's by no means a loud exhaust at low revs part throttle, but that's where I notice the biggest difference from stock.

If anyone in the GTA has a db meter I'd be happy to get some readings from my car.

I found comments that Invidia Q300 can get raspy when upstream components are opened up, and that's a no no for me.

Looks like the finalists are Perrin and HKS...which one is quieter with a much better flowing 4-1 header and two sport high flow cats before it?
