Anyone else have to contort themselves to get into their car?
I'm 5'10" and like 260lbs.
Picture a woman giving birth to a watermelon...In REVERSE. That's probably what it looks like for me to get into my FR-S. So why did I buy it if it's such a hassle, you may ask? Because as a testament to this wonderful vehicle, once I'm in the car it's like an extension of myself. The car becomes a part of me and I become a part of it...I LOVE it. Just wondering if there's anyone else out there in a similar situation.

getting in I feel like the side window could cut my head off if I'm not careful and getting out it might just be easier to do a barrel roll on to the ground.

I hit my head once, while getting in. I was looking at the doorsill, wondering "how the hell did I scuff that so ba- DAMMIT!"

A piece of cake compared to a Mosler MT900. The sill is about 18" wide on those. This is the best picture I could find, showing the sill.
The BRZ isn't bad, you just have to work on technique. Daily driving, I keep the seat slid back a couple notches, to make ingress/egress better. |

I get in almost the same way I exit. One foot in, one foot out. Getting in, I "gracefully" fall into the seat. On the way out, I grab the hand-hold at the back of the sill, right hand either on the seat or wheel (depending on how far I can open the door) and lift myself. Once I'm steady enough to stand up, the right foot comes out.
