Release Series 2.0 Wheel issue

I just picked up a set of used TRD wheels off an FR-S Release Series 2.0 for winter use (They came with snows mounted). The problem is that the clear coat is coming off. Doesn't look bad from a distance but are shite up close.
Is this a known issue or are these a rare, maybe only rims like it condition. I have no history on these wheels so don't know if the previous owner used a harsh cleaner or did something else to make this happen. Either way I am super happy with them fitting over the Brembos. Come the spring I'll pull the old snows off and get the rims redone.

Mine peeled as well with low miles and sparse bad weather conditions.

I think they were originally gray wheels they tried to coat black for the RS 2.0 and the process wasn't ready for prime time.

I had mine replaced while still under warranty and traded the car in before they peeled again.

IIRC this is a common issue with these wheels. Check out the RS 2.0 owners thread on here and I think several owners have brought this up

Its common with the rs 2.0 black wheels with the peeling. In the states u can get the same wheels in gunmetal for cheaper that don't have this issue. Sad its not avail in Canada. Once mine start peeling I will purposely strip away all the black and either repaint or put a coating under the gunmetal base
