Red does this as well. It never looks dirty, just sort of "not as bright" as when it's clean.

Ask any detailer and they would say that silver is the easiest to keep clean, contrary to popular belief that white is.I feel like it depends on where you live though.
If you are in Tucson,AZ,where it's always dusty and dirty out, almost any color will look like shit.Go down to Florida, where it's always sunny and short bursts of rain, after a good wax,all of the more vibrant and darker toned colors will pop right off of the street. Up here where I live,in the winter, white won't look nearly as dirty as other colors, because we put a lot of salt down on the roads. My hot lava looks like ass in the winter. |

The biggest problem with a black car is if the clear coat starts pealing. Looks like total ass after that.
Black is still my favorite car color though. That being said,I think the twins don't look very good in black and I can't really explain why. |

I’ve only ever owned black cars and I agree, the heat that the black generates kills the clear faster than other colors and then it looks really bad. I also agree the twins don’t look as good in black as other cars. I think it’s because of all the black accent pieces that don’t contrast on the paint. I sort of regret getting black for the first time ever. What I like about black is when you spend two hours cleaning the car you actually see the results. Wash a white car for two hours and it just looks a little better than when dirty. |

I'm envious of those willing to put this much effort into it, but I just can't do it.

That's why I don't sweat it. My take is that it doesn't functionally affect the machine until there's damage to the panels. I can try to keep it clean and shiny all the time, or I can spend a fraction of that time doing paint correction a couple times over the vehicle's life.

All the colors are good, but everyone knows the best color is red.

It takes me forever to wash my car, but I don't do it often. Hahaha. I washed it over the weekend for the first time since October. |

Dark grey is probably the best colour on this car. Looks great, is subtle, and hides dirt and defects.
That being said, Hakone IS the best colour. it's just probably as terrible as black and dark blue when it comes to keeping clean. |
