Thanks to both of you. It seems that the difference is the way it's classed. I assumed that the standard tables would be classed as OEM origin, but some are classed as RaceRom. From what I can tell on mine is that the standard ProECU gives you:
OEM: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced
RaceRom: Beginner

@DeliciousTuning in that photo it shows that you get the Racerom intermediate (if there are any) and advanced tables, this is the info I was after.

Is there any way, by opening the view by user level and sorting by origin, to show the list of Racerom tables available? You can exclude the Custom maps as I'm sure everyone knows that these come as part of the package.
@Circuit Motorsports I agree that beta tables shouldn't be open to the normal customer.

Look in the help section. There are a few good pdfs.

Might be worth searching for Bad Noodle's tuning guide on Google too.

Argh I just can't seem to wrap my head around the whole ecutek stuff. Just when I thought I understood the various products/features, I'm now confused again....this time about ecutek cables. Is the 'ProECU Programming Kit' the one and only type available on the market? I was told by one person that all cable kits are the same and can be used to load any ecutek map as long as you've got the license.

However another person told me that there there's one type of ecutek cable that only allows data logging (can't flash maps/tunes) but looks the same as the other?

Also, in theory can a license, cable, and tune be purchased of separate tuners/vendors set separate times? Or must they be purchased together (particularly license & cable) from the same tuner?

Ecutek....y u so complicated?

It's not complicated There are older cables that may not work, however every one for this platform and AFAIK GTRs too will work for everything. I think that they look different too so shouldn't be hard to tell apart if you're looking second hand.

The basics:
Cable - dumb hardware....ish
Dongle - contains the software licence, it's what allows access to maps and is what gets upgraded to allow Racerom access etc.
License - commonly known as the license on the ECU, once on there will remain unless you overflash with OFT/Tactrix/dealer flash etc.

Purchase a cable and the dongle will come with it. This is all you need to connect and can be purchased as the basic package enabling basic self tuning. They should register a license to the dongle which will download to ProECU and will flash to the ECU when flashing the 1st map, that could be a map of yours or a tuners.

If you want a RaceRom upgrade this can be purchased and will update via ECUtek update on ProECU. This solely gives you access to more tables in the map.

If you want to purchase a tune, you can do so by buying just a tune off a tuner. No need for any futher licenses etc.

Well seeing as no one decided to help I thought I might. I decided to upgrade.... will have a play when I have some time. Anyway, if you exclude the custom maps and the tables you have access to on the basic ProECU retail you get access to these extra maps (at the moment):

I'd like to dispute that Bill. Having seen the access that you get, I feel that there are a fair few tables that are not what I'd class as beta maps and that aren't available, which has left me a little disappointed. Here's a list below of the ones that I thought should be available:

-Minimum Primary OL Enrichment - So you don't have to be under 14:1 to be in OL
-DI Injection Angle - Can be done with custom maps, however no reference values to stock
-Timing Comp Per Cylinder
-Timing Comp ECT - Can be done with custom maps, however no reference values to stock
-Radiator Fan Modes A & B - But fan control based on speed is!!??
-Overrun fuelling tables

Despite some access to basic Knock, fine and coarse learning the following are missing:
-Feedback Correction Minimum Load
-Fine Correction Range (Load & RPM)
-Fine Correction Table (Load & RPM)

TBH, I expected all the above as I know that they can be done on ECUtek. I thought I'd save my tuner the hassle of mailing him requesting changes to be made.... I guess I'll have to still do that despite paying out on the understanding that I'd get the same access.

Apparently these are all still in Beta so that would explain why they aren't available. I've asked if the fully tested ones can be moved to non-beta so will see what happens

I believe the MAP Sensor min/max voltage tables are also only available to Master Tuners and not to ProECU customers.

Just an update. I emailed ECUtek and they have added some of the new ROMs for us and the associated RaceROM patches.

I have learned that there is a map for total timing on the pro turner version that we don't have. I made a simple excel spread sheet to add the knock correction and base map to view total timing and compare. I want this on the retail version too.

I have a decent tool that does similar floating around here somewhere, even takes into account different axes There is a total timing screen on the ROMs but only works on mode 1.

Did the tables you were after get added to ProECU ? Do you still feel like the package is missing something now?

Am considering going this route instead. Assume I buy licence + racerom + programming kit from one of the forum sponsors and download appropriate software? To do a mates car, just need a second licence correct?
