Beat Sonic NT6122 Nav Lockout Bypass

I bought this navigation bypass that is supposed to work with our cars. I installed it, but it doesn't seem to do anything other than make the map refresh so slowly that it's useless.

Has anybody installed this thing and managed to get it to work? I'm trying to decide on a refund or replacement. Surely somebody has tried this other than me.

all the "bypass" does is cut the e-brake signal and cut the VSS signal. both of which you can do by yourself for $5 if you wire a toggle switch to the VSS signal.

however, in the newer firmwares which your HU probably has, it WILL lock out based on GPS detecting movement, so the bypass is effectively useless.

The refresh is slow because your HU sees no signal from VSS, so has to rely only on GPS for speed. It may be trying to reconcile the two as well.

To answer my own question and provide this information for anyone else considering it, I discovered that this unit does not work with the head unit in the Limited BRZ. There was no note of that on the CARiD website, but I found it on the Beat-Sonic site while trying to locate troubleshooting info.

Back it goes!

That appears to be the case. The Beat-Sonic website says it works with all the FR-S and BRZ head units EXCEPT the one in the BRZ Limited. I wish I had read that before I ordered it. I haven't seen that note on any of the retailers' sites.
