It's not neccessarily worth it for the stage 1 tune, either go for headers and a tune at one time, or go for the appearance mod and save for the headers and tune. You're the one who said you wanted low end torque remember ?

Easy bet is to just get an OFT and Gruppe S-uel for power

OR

Get the taillights you like

IMO, there is very little you can do to make the car look better, and most cosmetic mods make it worse.

Get the OFT, a TRD (or other hi-flow) filter, flash the E85 tune and see what you think. With the OFT you get open-source tunes and freeware tuning software. It's worth every penny, and you are about a third of the way to all the gains you can make without forced induction. Seriously, it's the best 500 bucks you can spend. Their header is fantastic as well.

Best advice, though, is drive it for a while, then decide what you want to change.

I have yet to find the FR-S owner and service manuals online, somebody post a link if you have one.

I'm on stage 1 tune with stock header and yes there is a definite improvement on low end torque but it's still pretty weak.

Best thing to do is just get used to the shift points and rev the shit out of it. (After you've warmed up the engine of course.) The engine really comes alive between 5000 and 7400 RPM whether its stock or tuned, and that's where you want to be. And remember to use 93 octane, that's mentioned in the manual that you are trying to get lol.

Not much 93 octane in the US.

I feel like this install after looking at some videos isnt too terribly difficult, would you recommend the overpipe and all the extras? or just the headers, then stock pipes all the way to the axle back system already on the car from the dealer?

also, been looking around, cant really find a place to buy these online....

Header. The stock exhaust is decent. Unless you want loud or fart-can to impress your friends.

Runs just fine on 91, too. 87 as well, if you have to.

@Ryan_86 ....... what CatScan says is true .......

HOWEVER, since you have access to 93 octane ....... I'd suggest you use it and not skimp out on gasoline.

Your car will run stronger on the higher octane.

What if I get UEL headers and run the OFT Stage 2 UEL 93 Octane tune? Of course I would always use 93 when I can, but in emergency situations if 93 isnt available, would it be bad to run non 93 with that tune on if I had too?

Disclaimer: I'm no expert!

No worries. The ECU will figure it out and adjust to the minor difference. You can either flash the 91 tune or just take it easy until you can put the good stuff in. I run the 91 octane tune, and when I screw up my fuel planning and have to put local 87 in, runs just fine. I just don't beat on it until I can run the 87 out. I watch the numbers on the OFT, and the ECU does it's job dealing with the "bad" gas.

Do not, though, run gas on the E85 tune or the other way around. Running rich is OK, but lean will be a bad thing.

You might find that with what you have, just the OFT will be all you need to get what you want. E85 is just a James May "fizz".

Added: No, I'm not advocating running 87 octane because the car runs fine.

Congrats on the car, too. It's a little rough diamond. The better you get at driving it, the more you find it can do.
