While we are dreaming, Koenigsegg designed the Gemera with 4 seats that are all easy to get to, with a hybrid, mid-engine powertrain. It may be a boutique supercar, but the logic is sound.

Didnt realize that was a mid engine (probably should have known better though)
It also helps that uses a 2.0L 4cyl powerplant (hybridized) so its not taking up as much space as a V8 would.

The Gemera actually has an inline 3 cylinder engine (unless the last article I read was wrong).

But in general, I'm highly doubtful that a turbo and hybridized 3/4 cylinder engine takes up less space than a small block V8.

There are shops that are using the LS engine in mid mount configurations like the Noble.

I'd settle for a Camaro that you can see out of.

One of my favorite clips from the GT. Also mid-engine btw.

EDIT:

Hmm, if that link doesn't work...

I'd love a cheapish mid-engined car, but idk how Chevy could do it in the short term, they're not going to build the chassis cheaper than the c8, maybe downsized engine could knock a few thousand bucks off the pricetag, sacrifice amenities and interior quality for another few thousand bucks and I doubt they could sell a mid-engined car for less than $40k at this point. Anyone who cares about dynamics will cross shop a used Cayman or Evora, and it will invariably be less practical than the current Camaro which will affect sales. They'd have to go from down to up to make a car that's mid-engined and camaro-ish, flip the 2.0L ~250hp Malibu powertrain into the back of a cheap chassis, Hyundai though will beat them to the punch if there's actually a market for that.

Realtalk though, Evora's are creeping down in price...

Should I photochop mid-engine hybrid 86, so Motor1 can post next clickbait "Next 86 Confirmed! Next 86 is mid-engine bybrid!"

Do that and claim it is NOT the next 86, but Toyota's long awaited third brother sports car! MR2(+2) returns!
Much more clickbait worthy

GM has done it before, no reason they couldn't do it again. I think its time to bring back the MR2 vs Fiero competition to the market!
