My Canadian unit will send me on spurious directions.
I've given up and either rely on my smartphone (in Canada) or a separate Garmin (in the US). |

The nav on my BRZ has never lost a signal, it's alright. Sometimes it doesn't really know what direction I'm driving though. I'll pull out of a complex and it thinks I'm already driving on the main road. So I drive for about a mile or two until it shows me where to turn around. I sit there thinking.. JUST TELL ME! I'll gladly u-turn in the middle of traffic rather than drive 2 miles in the wrong direction. |

My dealership didn't give me the memory card with the maps software, they said it was extra. So nope.

Idk if it's my GPS that sucks, but I hate the navigation. Its terrible at picking the most obvious and best routes. Recalculating the route, it always tries to get me to back track my steps to get back on the original route instead of plotting an alternate route based on where I am at the time. I've tested this when I knew the area and where I was going and it had failed multiple times. I want to get an android head unit and stick to Google maps or waze.
I love my BRZ but Subaru failed with the nav unit, stock tires, and no steering wheel controls. Cup holder placement kinda sucks too. |

Today the stock nav unit tried to send me the wrong way down one-way streets twice.

I suppose these navigation problems can be found in every GPS system. It takes a human being to really know the road, traffic, and shortcuts around town.

For roads and routes that have been in existance on this planet for longer than I've been alive, it should find the routes just as well as google maps does, but it doesn't. It's to the point where I will never depend on it if I'm out of town unless it's my last resort. |

I voted in the US and minor problems. Haven't had issues with antenna/geolocating, just with the navigation itself. Maybe its because I live in Atlanta where there are 200 peachtree streets (I'm exaggerating, it's more like 150), but the damn thing never finds the address I want. If I want to go to 1234 Peachtree St, I punch in "Atlanta Metro Area > Piedmont Ave and then the 1 option is greyed out. WTF?
I usually rely on my android phone - it's faster, more accurate, and less annoying. As an aside, what's with the Engrish: "Connection with mobile device was disconnect" |
