volume adjust, displays on info screen, can I turn that off?

When I adjust the volume with either thumb-buttons or the knob on the dash, a big window displaying volume going uppie or downie blocks out the entire left-side info display. Which is dumb. Any way to turn that "feature" off?

I haven't found it yet, and it drives me nuts.

I always see it flash in my peripheral vision and I think I missed an error message.

For guys that find all these little things really annoying, may I humbly recommend a trip to the BMW dealer and a test drive... no really, if you want ANNOYING you should try a German car :-)

Personally, one of my greatest joys is a) No auto-start/stop to turn off EVERY damn time and b) the little touch panel REMEMBERS that I turned it off a month ago and quickly goes dark!! Yes, it wakes up when in reverse... and then magically turns off again... so NOT GERMAN. Oooh, and *I* get to rev-match on down shifts!

My one niggle... wish the throttle actuator sampled the pedal position faster and did not rev hang. But hey, I can live with it.

(Another joy: I can just lift the wipers off the windshield... no need to find a magical incantation to center the wipers!)

I'm really not trying to throw shade, but I'm really surprised to see the inconsequential stuff people are complaining about.

That's a really good sign!
People wouldn't complain about the little things if they had bigger things to worry about.

Believe me, I'm LOVING this car! But if I could eliminate this niggle it would be *most* gratifying...

It just doesn't make any sense, at all, I mean, who *asked* for this?!

Clearly the result of a glorious product management / UI team meeting.

I hope there is a special place in Purgatory for the BMW engineer who came up with that procedure and all of those managers who signed off on it for production. I always forgot the process and had to look it up each year when I replaced the wiper blades.

Ugh, don't get me started on dealing with UX teams.
