From the solomaters facebook comments, it seems like the SCCA might look to make these either illegal or Bstreet next year. One person (national course designer) said that it wasn't a classing decision, but a rules clarification. That could mean they would reclass the TRD cars next year....said the hopeful BRZ owner.
Two other things to keep in mind: 1). The rear rate on the TRD springs seems rather high. This could negate any advantage of lower ride height or require a massive front sway bar to make the package work. 2). As many have said before, an ND Miata in CStreet will make this irrelevant

Well, if true then those numbers would seem to indicate that the TRD springs are not re-branded Eibach Pro-Kits as some have been theorizing.

PNs are different. I think JDM TRD Springs not same as USDM TRD Springs...

To those with the springs installed.....have any of you measured rear camber? I saw the service manual stated that it could be over 2 degrees. Sounds like a lot.

That would be great. As with anything else in Street Class, I expect there will be compromises made. For instance, will the springs and bars be stiff enough to keep us off of the bumpstops after being lowered or not having any allowance to fix rear camber.

Right now I am leaning towards stocking up on tires letting this play out. Will definitely be paying attention though. I am not going to Nats this year but will be attending the pro and NT in Packwood.

No but we gained some. My pyrometer readings on stock springs indicated that I needed more rear camber anyways so I'm ok with this. We did not have time at the pro last weekend to take any tire temps but I will be doing that at next weekend's local (while potentially dialing in new shocks...ehh, maybe I should wait on installing the Konis).

The upgraded bump stops are shorter which helps you stay off of them - at any rate, just think of them as a free bump in spring rate

You're not helping!

I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat if I didn't think that I would pretty much have to do Koni's at the same time.....Although, I am just about convinced that I should get the koni's even with the stock springs.

If you want to be competitive at the national level, you're going to need springs and shocks - simply because that's what the rest of us are doing, and unless you are God's gift to the steering wheel you're not going to beat us on stock shocks. And you're going to want to order them now before Toyota/Koni runs out (tire rack had less than 4 fronts remaining when I pulled the trigger).

So my advice is to decide just how well done you want to boil this egg. If you're not gonna be a nationals type you don't need the konis, but you don't necessarily need the springs either. Do what puts a smile on your face.

I have always believed that it's the Indian not the bow. I've only made it to nationals once in 2007. I held my own. 🍺

I may just see how many "prepped cars" i can find this year to beat before they get moved to BS next year.
