CONGRATULATIONS on your new car...... TRD lowering springs ??..... I know nothing except this: http://www.toyotaracing.com/trd/part...?p=ptr07-18130 Maybe others will be by with some input or a reference. Personally, I think the FR-S is low enough .... I have enough problems trying to scrape up things with the stock height ..... humfrz |

An old dog with a trick new car
Hi -
I'm David, and I picked up my black FR-S a week ago today. I'm an old racer (SCCA FV, VSCCA, SVRA) who cut his teeth on 356s, a series 1 Lotus 7, an H-mod LeGrand and other cast-offs bought and resurrected when they lost their luster from people who moved on to the next big thing. In the last 15 years, my street transportation has been a BMW z3 coupe, an '03 Cooper "S", then an '06 350Z. When I drove off the dealer's lot with my FR-S, I realized that it gives me the same feeling I get from 356s and the Seven - it's a driver's car, direct and simple with great handling and enough power to get into trouble if given the opportunity. There's plenty of room for my over-6' frame, and enough adjustability in seat and wheel so that my 36" arms are exactly where I want them. This may be the most comfortable driving position I've ever had in a street car. I look forward to learning from all of you, and I love this car!!! |

Sounds like you have been around the track a few times ...... Welcome to ownership of one of the best, relatively economical, driving machines out there. I would imagine, with your experience, you can just sit back, relax and enjoy this drivers' machine for what it is ...... not for what you can try to make it ..... humfrz |

Hello!
Hello everyone!
My name is Melina and I am from Northern NJ! I am going to be financing my very first car- the Scion FR-S within the next 3 months. I currently use my father's '85 corvette or mom's '06 Jeep Cherokee to run around and I am tired of trying to figure out when I can use the car to go to work or school! I plan on putting down $3-4k (I don't have a car to trade-in unfortunately) on an automatic (white or hot lava color). Actually, I am going in to the dealer next week to discuss numbers so we shall see! Any one have any tips for me? I am going with an experienced car buyer so they don't pull a fast one on me, but your input is definitely welcomed! I have a lot of plans for my car (interior, exterior, engine, etc.) and I can't wait! I have learned a lot about the FR-S from the forums and I am excited to get my own and really have fun with it! Wish me luck everyone!!! |

Hey peoples!
New owner from Tucson. Just got a 2014 Ultramarine FRS, manual, last week. I've been drooling over them since they released them. Finally jumped on one. It will be my daily driver. So far, I've got it up to 26.8 mpg avg. Of course it only has 200 miles on it now. I won't be punching it at all for a few months. Anyway, Hi!

New Jersey!! We will definitely need to ride together some time! Good idea about the walk around. Knowing me, I would be so eager to run out with it that I wouldn't think about checking out the car for anything abnormal. I'd be in trouble if something like that were to happen. |

You might consider taking along your own financing (from your bank or credit union) just to compare to what the dealer is offering. Other than that ..... just pick out a perty one ..... humfrz |

Hi everyone!
My name is Grayson and I own a 2014 Hot Lava FR-S Monogram. I'm from Colorado but I'm stationed in Arizona. Had the car since March 15 and I really like this car. I'm still messing around with the features the car has, enjoying the ride, and already getting the crickets that everyone is talking about. I'm hoping to start doing mods to my vehicle soon. I posted pictures here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61983 |
