It will fit, you just can't run camber bolts. If you want to run camber bolts, you'll need some spacers. If you don't want spacers and want camber, you'll need to run camber plates.

Just a PSA, but the 17x9 ARC-8's w/ 255/40/17 Hankook RS4's absolutely rubs the inner fender liner at less than full turn lock @ 3.0 degrees of camber and around 6 degrees of caster. I was able to lessen it with 3 mm spacers, but there is still a bit of rubbing occurring.

Yeah, I'll edit this post with pictures. Not sure how this hasn't been commented on yet, because I feel like there's a lot of people running 255's.

The circumstances in which scrubbing can occur can also vary from car to car. Sometimes it only occurs under suspension compression, or under heaving braking zones, or at major steering angle... and sometimes it is a combination of more than one of these. Adjustments to alignment, ride height, spring rate, compression and rebound settings (aftermarket coilovers), and tire model can change the outcome, but at the end of the day minor scrubbing of the plastic liners is not a barrier or deterrent for most track enthusiasts and racers looking to improve lap times. I have small divot marks in the front plastic liners on my E92 M3 race car from the wide wheel and tire configuration I'm running, but no real harm or damage comes from it "self-clearancing". With that said, some cars have sensitive components like oil coolers located behind the liners, so it's certainly something to pay attention to. 245/40-17 (approx. 24.6" tall) would be the safer bet for enthusiasts sensitive to scrubbing the liners, as this shorter tire size mirrors the stock rolling diameter. - Ryan

Yeah not the end of the world, just didn't get too much heads up. Here's where it is rubbing. It has actually burned away the paint and left bare metal in the wheel well. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the bare metal before I touched it up so it doesn't rust. For those running spacers, how much did it take to make clearance? 3mm isn't cutting it.

While many are able to stuff the 17x9" ET42 & 255/40-17 setup on the car without the same type of rubbing, our new line of EC-7R forged wheels will offer 9" ET35 wheels (in both 17" & 18" diameters) which will result in 7mm of additional inner clearance. Of course there is always a trade-off - additional negative camber will be required for outer fender edge clearance. - Ryan

I've created a new thread to discuss APEX EC-7R here: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show....php?p=3347985
We can keep this thread focused on ARC-8 going forward. |

I don't think even 6mm spacer would be enough for +42 wheels with 255 tires. Just don't turn your wheel that much? |

SUBARU BRZ tS TRACK CAR | FEATURING APEX 17” ARC-8 WHEELS This insanely clean BRZ tS has exchanged caretakers since we photographed it, but it remains one of our favorites to date. As you can see from the laundry list of aftermarket parts below, the original owner, James, was not gun-shy about modifying the car. With that said, it is evident that parts were carefully selected to improve performance on and off the race track, and aesthetic modifications were carried out with an overarching theme in mind. It is quite easy for passionate enthusiasts to get a bit overzealous with modifications, and that often times leads to a "Frankenstein build" where parts have a hard time working cohesively with each other - both from a performance and visual perspective. When that happens the car looses a bit of its identity along the way. James really knocked it out of the park with this build, and we look forward to seeing how the new owner will carry the torch. We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did. MODIFICATIONS & SPECS

@APEX Race Parts
Hope you guys have been safe and well. Just wanted to see if there were any updates on the new Arc-8 fitments that were mentioned for Q4? Debating on waiting for those especially if the 17x9 +35 will come in Profile 2 or 3, or just pulling the trigger on the current +42 with the Black Friday deal you have going. Thank you! |

In regards to the spoke profile, it has to be a profile 1 like the current 17x9" ET42 in order to clear the PP Brembo brakes, etc. BBK clearance is a non-negotiable for us For enthusiasts looking for a more concave spoke design, I would urge you to look at our new EC-7R forged wheel line. These wheels offer the best of both worlds, brake clearance and spoke concavity. - Ryan
