Is the noise (if there is one) from both doors?
You have established that the fob communicates with the car.
You have not established that the hard wired switch in the door or the key switch will communicate.
Some where between the door and the computer or the computer to the door is a communication problem.
Broken wire, fuse, plug.

No noise from the door I will check the fuse

The car will manually lock, right? You can use the key to unlock and lock the door, and you can manually move the door lock from inside the car to lock the door, right?

Assuming everything is installed correctly (harnesses into their plugs), and they fuse isn't blown, and there is no shorts in the electrical system from the impact, then all I can think of next is this door sensor in yellow. I believe it is an impact sensor. I don't know if it was triggered, and if it was then I don't know if they automatically reset or if they have to be replaced. I also don't know if they trigger something in the circuit that unlocks the doors and/or then cuts the electrical door locks, as a safety feature.

I also thought about it more. There could be a chassis code that is triggered that needs resetting. Again, this could be for safety, so an electrical door switch doesn't force the doors to stay locked.

Use Techstream to see if there is a code that needs resetting.

I honestly don't know, but maybe.

You can buy a Toyota Techstream CD and cable from Ebay for cheap. That's what I did. You can check the code and clear anything.

Like I said, it could be something else. You could call Toyota/Subaru to see if a cool mechanic would let you know if a tripped door sensor needs replacing or could disable the electronic door locks.

It would work for a Subaru as well?

Door locks are handled via the BCM. SRS module is another unit all together. The PW shouldn't work either if the BCM is fried.

No.

Out of 13 or whatever of these salvage 86s now only one had door lock/etc issues and it was a fuse that was blown.

My track FRS doesn't have impact sensors/airbags/etc. Doors lock/unlock fine. All the cars when still wrecked with blown bags and unreset ABS modules, doors lock/unlock fine.

If you want to eliminate the SRS system as a cause simply unplug the SRS module. It's behind and under the HVAC controls. I had a badly reset module before in a car and whenever it was plugged in it made the CANBUS go crazy. Door locks worked but a whole bunch of crap (including the starter 49 out of 50 times) would not. Unplugged it and everything else was fine again. So if the SRS module is causing CANBUS confusion unplugging it will stop it.

We traced that down with Techstream - well sort of. We detected that non of the modules would talk to either techstream and my good OBD tool and just unplugged crap until the problem went away...

Is it possible it is the actuator

I added more to my post on how to eliminate the SRS system completely as you were replying, but go do that if you want to just eliminate the SRS system.

But for the door locks themselves there is a fuse just for them so the fact that everything else works but that makes it the primary suspect to check first.
