As in the picture. I thought is something to do with lights. But after I press it nothing happens. I purchased this car as used. And cant reach the previous owner. Any idea what's it?

Does your FRS have the optional LED fog light bezel? Mine had a switch for them in the same spot, different looking switch though

(I hope you can overcome that stutter you have) What is that switch for? I have no idea - but I would guess it has something to do with OBD II and bluetooth - I'll ring up ol @soundman98 for you, he is pretty smart about these kind of things. |

That looks a lot like the POS security device I found in my car too. Its infested up in the dash and steering column. Days after I bought the car used from the dealer I found it and wasted no time ripping it all out and carefully repairing all the wires. I even bought a new under panel because I didn't want the damn holes there to remind me of it. These things are not reliable and the wires they destroy become the the source of electrical gremlins later on. My recommendation is to trace the wires back under the dash and see where they go. That will tell you what it does.
I think the dealers install these to reduce their insurance cost while wrecking your wiring in the process. They dont care. |

Even the wire colors on your switch are silmilar to the ones on mine.
In that picture IIRC, the part of the loom with red and yellow wires go into the steering column. The part of the loom with the green and blue go down towards the left kick panel. |

looks like you got it figured out!
i would take those screws out, ziptie that module underneath the dash so i don't have to look at every time i get in the car, and leave it. it's going to be like removing a leech with a pliers. removing it is going to cause a heck of a lot more pain and trouble than just leaving it.

The OP will need to decide what he wants to do with it. For me, something like this was a reliabilty concern. I didnt even think twice about it, and pulled mine out the same day I found it. It wasn't so bad, a few hours to properly repair all the wires, damaged insulation and rewrap the affected looms. If the OP has no experience with wiring or lacks the right tools and materials, then I would agree to leave it there as paying someone to remove it will likely result in even more shoddy work.
