Like said before AUTOCROSS is the cheapest BEST form of racing you can do. You don't have to spend big $$$ on your car to autocross as most people do it for fun on weekends few times a year. Now if you wish to be competitive, you can also do that by running big Divisional and National events against top drivers in the country. Its up to you!

To answer your question:
Main thing is to show up! You can register/pay at the event. Most things can be figured out once you get there. You can ask around if have questions and most people are very helpful. The Autocross crowd here are some of the nicest people I have met.

Bring cash/check to pay for the event if you didn't pre-register and pre-pay online. You can enter in CS (C-Stock class).
Also bring plenty of water and beverages to drink. It could get extremely sunny out there, so sunblock, hat, etc. Oh and if there is chance of rain a raincoat or jacket would be a good idea.
There will be loner helmets if you don't have your own.
Check your tires to see if they are properly inflated. There should be an air compressor on site if you need to air up your tires.

Last event we had 5 FRS 1 BRZ and had a great time. I'll try to be there next two events Nov. 3 and 4.

@ Vracer111 ... I just meant I would have ranked 4th vs 9th =) in CS vs Rookie.

I'll probably be out on the Saturday. Dunno if I can swing the Sunday yet or not.

Found my first jerk in an FR-S. We were pulling into Hewlett Packard in Tomball and he raced around me as I tried to flag him down and ask a question. I hope you aren't on the forums. This guy was driving like he just bought a Porsche. Heads up buddy, it's a $25,000 Scion.

He was white, mid 30's, bald, with glasses. Watch out for him in the Tomball area.

You can always do non-competitive track days, which I'm going to this sunday. Blue cars only have to pay $100 this session, that includes learning basics and such for first timers. Bronze and high classes each get about 5 or more 20 minute track sessions in one day. To me, you get more seat time with your car then autocrossing.

Shew, I'm glad that wasn't me!!! Ha, I live in that area, use Fred Haas Toyota and I'm old compared to most FR-S owners, I'm sure (48, but at least not bald). BUT, I have an Asphalt FR-S. My suspicion would be that it was a salesman from Fred Haas.

I would just assume that he works for HP since he was pulling in to the office at almost 9am. I just don't get why so many people are buying this car and thinking they are the coolest guy in the world and has a race car. It's a damn good car but the specs are hardly egoboostable.

No, we're talking about Fred Haas Country on 249. My car was one of the First 86 so it's been around for some time!

So if he were driving a Porsche or just a more expensive car his behavior would have been (more) acceptable?? I'm not about anyone driving recklessly on public roads, but your tone is coming off more than a little harsh. He should be able to enjoy his $25,000 Scion just as someone would enjoy their $100k Porsche if he so chooses.

People who drive like assholes piss me off too, but calling someone you have never met a "douchebag old man" on a public forum is a little much. Let's try and keep it friendly in here!
