225/50/17?

On 17x7.5 TE37s. I searched. I see everyone picking 45 over 50. is 50 really too big? I don't plan on doing springs any time soon, so I wanted to fill that wheel gap a bit.

My first thou is, Idk y ud want a thicker tire that way. I would think it'd throw off the calibration for the speedometer

Well looking at Michelin Primacy HP tires the revs per mile of the stock tire is 844, and for the 224/45 it is 833, but the 225/50 is 803. So the 225/45 will be 1.3% taller and the 225/50 will be 5.1% taller than stock. The 1.3% difference is not that significant; but, I think making all your gears 5.1% taller and having your real speed be 5.1% higher than the speedometer reads is too big a difference for most owners.

It will most likely rub at full lock on the front. I have some old 225/45 19s on the car now, which are similarly sized, and they rub. Not a good way to fill it out.

There have also been reports of abs/traction control/stability control issues when rolling diameter differs by more than ~3% of stock

If all the tires are the same size, how would it know?

I'm not sure what you read.

*most likely* = probable = better chance it will than not

Feel free to give it a shot, if that's what you want to do.
