Vortech rebuild
Has anyone rebuilt a V3 for their twin yet? I have taken mine fully apart and then found out vortech will not sell parts for them. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get new bearings and seals that are suitable for this application? Im sure someone has already dealt with this issue, thanks in advance!

I researched rebuilding/aftermarket impellers before I ordered my kit, came across a couple of sources that should be able to help with parts
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...ebuild_kit.php http://www.superchargerrebuild.com/vortech/ Some even sell upgraded bearings for higher RPM usage. Not sure if the stock vortech impeller is good for faster speeds or if it was limited by the bearings vortech uses.. but its worth a shot if you want to try a very small pulley that would normally put the blower past the recommended max RPM. They also include a better set of seals (or so they claim) I know mine seeps oil VERY slowly, not enough to even register as a loss on the dipstick but just enough to make a damp stain on the supercharger. Maybe a few drops every oil change. Check here for upgraded bearing rebuild kits http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...ebuild_kit.php Also, what is the reason for rebuild? Bearings start getting noisy?

I have researched many options and overall "superchargerrebuild" seems to have the best reviews they also sell on ebay incase anyone else runs into this same issue and wants to save themselves the the headache. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VORTECH-Super..._qi=RTM2247626 I have read about many people sourcing the same or comparable bearings and seals for dirt cheap at local shops but I don't care to risk having to rebuild it again because a seal wasn't quite to spec. Thanks for for the links, much appreciated! I will post an update as to whether my rebuild is successful or a catastrophic failure |

Can I get the SKF bearings part numbers please so I only need to tear my down once. These bearings can be purchased very cheap from MSC, Grainger or Kamand if you have the bearing number.
