Thanks! The shots in the previous post were done by another photographer with a mirrorless camera. I'll have to get the specs from him.

All of the other shots are done by myself with my meager little Canon T3

also, 86th post wooo

Also, I'm gonna highjack this post in the past and make an update I never made...

I did my first track day at VIR! It was an absolute blast. The event was NASA Md-Atlantic's Aug 19-20, 2017 – DAN UNKEFER MEMORIAL
VIRginia International Raceway (3.3mi full course). I still don't have any glorified metrics system set up, but I did use Harry's Lap Timer to record my laps:

Here's one of my Sunday sessions:
[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCB_SVJK1kE&[/ame]

Fastest lap of the weekend was my last recorded lap: 02:25:95. Not a great time, but I'm content with it for my first go! I was thankful to have @lufty as a fantastic driving coach.

Absolutely gorgeous! Was planning to get same taillights and gold rims on my GBS brz which essentially is the same color as ultramarine but bit hesitated if it matches well on the dark blue car. You totally sold me! I think dark blue really goes well with the gold rims and all red taillights :-)

It snowed a little bit out here. I have some toys in the mail I'm pretty excited about, too.

Has it been this long? I haven't updated this thread in ages. Updated the OP with some little updates, and here's some detail.
  • Removing the Grimmspeed License Plate bracket License Plate Holder - I did this because I like the look without a front plate, and it's a bit of a hassle to clean, and remove whenever I plan on knocking out some cones. I still own this. Not having this on came in handy when I needed to attach my tow hook to get pulled out of a frozen driveway last weekend!
  • Raceseng custom Spherology shift knob - my 2018 Christmas gift to myself
  • Racesneg reverse lockout
  • BaysonR ST-Style front lip - I consider a front lip to be a consumable. This one already has a little flaw on the driver's side, and I have a replacement waiting to go back on when it warms up again.
  • EBC Yellowstuff brake pads - (DP4037/2R 7420 front, DP4057R 7912 rear)
  • Replaced my HKS Super Hybrid Air Intake Panel Filter (70017-AT020) Air Filter. The old one probably still had some good life left in it. Apparently I don't drive through dirty climates much.
  • Replaced my Project Kics R40 lugnuts with Muteki SR48 open ended lug nuts - what? You replaced super high quality $250 lugnuts with $50 ones? What's up? I actually went through two sets of these R40's. For whatever reason, the locks were absurdly prone to strip and fuse to the extended stud. I'm not down to spend that much on lugnuts for the sake of having something wheel studs is a pain, and I'm not about that life. Cheap lugnuts it is for now.

I'm all out of free oil changes from my local dealer, so I'm now doing them myself. Just did a fresh oil change with full synthetic Mobil 1 0W-20. Unsure if I'll use 5W30 or something else for AX/Track season. Fumoto valve incoming.

Speaking of oil, an oil cooler is in the works.

New wheels have been purchased to daily on. They will be wearing the tires that are currently on my TWS wheels. The TWS wheels will be dedicated to AX/track duty, and will likely be wearing 200TW 265/35/18 Hankook Ventus RS-4's. While these are not RE-71Rs, they should last me far longer.

Enough talk, here's some photos (taken before I removed the front plate):

I also got better at taking pictures.

That sounds like an interesting story...

The build looks great! Love the Gold Wheels on Ultramarine! It looks so good!

Some little quality of life changes - and man, what a difference!

  • 35% Llumar Formula One Pinnacle window tint (everything but the windshield) - this just kinda happened. I'm really enjoying it.
  • Diode Dynamics HP5 5000K 194 Lumens License plate lights - for such an inexpensive mod, and quite literally a 2 minute install, I can't believe I didn't do this earlier. It's subtle, but having the 5000K lights instead of the slightly yellow lights do a lot for the rear at night.
  • Verus Engineering Steering Angle Limiter kit - I've been rubbing my inner fender for two years at full lock, and I had just learned to avoid turning that far. A local motorsports shop had my wheel off and told me that they wouldn't pass me for race tech rubbing like this, so I had to have a solution. I had read about this before and came across this post, which also serves as a wonderful guide. On Wednesday, I called Verus Engineering and asked if they would separate out the steering angle limiting kit from their full brake cooling kit. By Friday, it was at my door. I just installed this today. Man, I can't believe what I was missing out on. For now on, for anyone rubbing, I will evangelize performing this simple inexpensive mod.
And lastly, an accompanying photo which doesn't really do anything to showcase any of these mods:

This is long overdue. I need to stop abusing my Michelin Pilot Supersports at autocross/on the track, so a second set of wheels and tires are in order. I managed to purchase these (used!) wheels on FT86Club classifieds, as I did my TWS wheels.

My TWS T66-F's are going to become my track wheels, and the tires for those just arrived today. The Advans will be my new daily wheels, wearing the tires that were on the T66-F's. I used this opportunity to go ahead and lower my front suspension and get a racing alignment.
  • Yokohama Advan Racing GT wheels in Racing White, 5x100, 18x9.5 +45
  • Custom alignment (see below)
  • Lower front suspension .25"

Alignment specs:
  • Front
    • Camber
      • Left -2.40°
      • Right -2.46°
    • Toe
      • Left 0.06°
      • Right 0.05°
      • Total 0.11°
  • Rear
    • Camber
      • Left -1.94°
      • Right -1.90°
    • Toe
      • Left 0.10°
      • Right 0.07°
      • Total 0.17°
  • Thrust Angle -0.02°

And photos, because that's why we're all here.

I've started giving a bit of a summary in parts on my website. I published the first portion yesterday:

https://gkubed.com/2022/04/19/the-sc...rly-ownership/

p.s., I've since wrecked the car at Summit Point pretty badly, but I'm fixing it to be better than it's ever been against all sound judgment.

Enjoyed your series, thanks for sharing..

That is a really good looking combination, LOVE the Ultramarine with the flat gold TWS wheels. And the ride height is perfect (aesthetically at the very least).

Wish you had made the choice to remove the front plate sooner. As cool a personalized tag as it is, it still takes away from many of the beautiful photos of your ride..

P.S. - Assuming this wheel tire combo (TWS T66-F 18x9.5 +45 w/ Michelin Pilot Super Sports 265/35/18) will only fit with coilovers?

That is correct! I apologize for answering so late!

For what it's worth, Part IV of this series was posted last November. The return!
