How to remove small instrument panel?

I wasn't sure if I should have posted this in the electronics section or here, but whatever.

How do you remove the panel with the trunk release button? I would like to mount my switches to that instead of having them taped underneath.

It's either that or I make another small box underneath.

It's a beast to get it out. The best way is to pull the lower dash off. It seriously takes 30 seconds. There's a screw on the bottom right corner. There's also a single screw under the panel on the left when you open the door. After those are out, stick your hands in next to the steering wheel on each side and pull towards you, not up or down. After you have it out, you can easily pop the panel out with a flathead or hobby knife.

You might find a lighted switch easier to operate for the location. Just a thought.

Thanks again by the way.
A lit switch wouldn't look as factory, plus this falls under the muscle memory category, just like the trunk release.
