New to Toyota

Hey guys,

Like a few others I made the change from the 'S13 life' to the FRS platform not too long ago. I'm a big fan of RWD cars so this was the only logical next step. I'm from CA but I'm in Pensacola, FL with the Navy. I've owned about 4 S13s and one S14 before I decided to leave my wife with a grandma-stock S13 coupe in CA. I picked up another S13 hatch as a project for FL and my time here in training with the Navy. It ended up being too much of a hassle and now I'm here in an FRS, lol.

I'm a big supporter of true 90's-era Japanese cars...so I'm out of my element a bit here. I hope to have this thing on suspension and a respectable set of wheels before the New Year.

Welcome Josh, I just sold my 97 240. Seems like a natural jump from 240s to the FRS.

**edit** Just realized I quoted from the first page of this thread, oops.

New here! Just wanted to say hi Currently driving a g37 and looking to get into a brz or frs (still don't know which I would want) after graduating from nursing school in December. I love how this platform has taken off and can't wait to get one. Until then, I'll sit back and enjoy all the nice cars

New fr-s owner

Hey everyone. I just bought a new 2013 asphalt 6spd manual out here in gilbert az! Anyone out this way? I'm interested in meeting others and talking cars and grabbing a bite to eat. I can't wait for the mods to start I already have my list. I used to own a performance shop in Illinois so I know a thing or two about tuning and suspensions and turbos

Greetings from Calgary!
Long time viewer, decided to finally join up.
Made an album with some pics I was lucky enough to take before I took delivery.
Was thinking of getting Raven, but when I saw that sweet ass glistening in the sun, well.... Sold!!!
Super happy with Argento, super happy with the car, super happy to be here.
Cheers all.

Hello everyone, my name is Steve, better known on the internet as Forgetful.

10 days ago I bought a '13 FR-S in Ultramarine, from Sun Country Toyota in Kamloops, B.C. I'm thrilled to bits about it.

I have to admit that I almost bought a car without giving the FR-S a chance. I started my car search looking to get in to a used BMW or VW, but between the interest rate and the age of the cars I was looking at, it just didn't make sense. Being that I was working through a local Ford dealer, because I had bought my last few cars there, they lent me a Focus ST. I had it overnight on a Friday and was pretty impressed with it.

Luckily I have some good friends and they made sure to nitpick every car I mentioned, so I wasn't 100% sold on the Focus, and that night I properly shopped everything new that piqued my interest. That was a pretty short list, consisting of the Focus ST, 500 Abarth and the FR-S.

So, Saturday morning my plan was to drop of the Focus and tell them I had some shopping to do, hit the local Toyota dealers, drive the FR-S, then shoot down to Kelowna where they had almost the exact Fiat 500 I had built on the web to see how it drove. I made it as far as the Toyota dealer, drove the FR-S and that was it. Got back to the dealership and started the paperwork. By mid-day she was mine.

I've already had a chance to run it from Kamloops to Whistler across the Duffey Lake road, as well as to Vancouver via the Fraser Canyon. Both trips were a blast, and really reinforced the fact that I made the right decision to buy the Scion.

I love cars of all kinds, but I honestly have a pretty bland car history. I've owned some great vehicles, but nothing all that interesting or fun. Boy has that changed with my Scion. I usually satisfy my autophilia with sim racing. I helped grow a Gran Turismo racing league from the very limited GT5Prologue in to an organization that has been home to 6 people who've gone on to compete at GT Academy finals at Silverstone. I've since moved on to iRacing, founding my own group at www.DriverSports.org We're a little stagnant ATM but we've got some good people and a really cool logo.

Back when we were still running GT5 and the GT86 was being launched we ran a little race series for the triplets and had a blast running stock 86es. Enjoy!

I see that! I can't wait to start meeting some of you guys and do some car club stuff. I'm starting a new job Monday as a store manager at Best Buy so I don't know my schedule yet but I'd like to get some people together for a little meet maybe next weekend at the SanTan mall say maybe at the Johnny rockets near Harkins. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Hi all, finally got around to posting on here... Got my FR-S back in February and used the site a lot before then when making up my mind. Definitely a great community and a big help in choosing my car.

Loving my FR-S, even if most miles are on the freeway for my lengthy commute. I've found it to be a perfectly comfortable cruiser though and I obviously don't need to say anything about its handling attributes down the windier stuff.

Hopefully will make it to a meet at some point, cheers,

Simon

Forgot to post here .. been around for a while but was mainly looking for a BRZ b/c I hated the FRS's original radio & lack of HID. Then I got the 10 series.

Previous decent car (not my current Honda Fit beater) was a supercharged Maxima.
