Just a few questions to all:
1. When/what milage did you drain the factory fill oil?
2. What oil viscosity do you use? 0w-20, 5w-30, etc.
3. The first free 1,000kms check up from the dealer, what did they do? does this include changing the oil? toyota only offers the f.f. 20w-50 regular, 15w-50 semi, and 5w-40 syn. i think this is too thick.
4. People with M/T, did you already change your fluid? hows the 1-2 cold shifting? still hard/notchy?
Hi Victor.. lemme answer some of your Q kase bagong change oil ako last months sa casa

1. When/what milage did you drain the factory fill oil?
1,000 km++ when i had my 1st change oil

2. What oil viscosity do you use? 0w-20, 5w-30, etc.
since 0w-20 is not accessible sa casa, they have an alternative which can be used for our 86.. i also checked the manual and it is also stated dun we can also use this in our road condition(i.e temperature)

3. The first free 1,000kms check up from the dealer, what did they do? does this include changing the oil? toyota only offers the f.f. 20w-50 regular, 15w-50 semi, and 5w-40 syn. i think this is too thick.
what is free is just the labor pero not sa parts... kala ko nga rin libre eh kase free daw hahaha.. forgot how much exactly the oil and oil filter costs basta 3k++ nabayaran ko kase 5Liters yung needed oil sa engine and had to buy 2 4Liter cans..

what they did? well funny thing Toyota had to lift up and down the car 4x.. i asked them ano hinahanap nila, sabi nla d daw nila makita yung oil filter. i dont blame them though kase sa lahat ng bumili ng 86 sa cebu, ako palang daw nag paservice ng 1st 1,000km(yung isa kasi they just had to change the tail lights for condensation.issues) i dont know if they had any training kase pati yung head mechanic d din alam saan and also dont know how much quantity of oil to be used.. so i had to point them to the right direction

4. People with M/T, did you already change your fluid? hows the 1-2 cold shifting? still hard/notchy?
yup stayed with the same fluid and yup, it's still notchy at cold temps.. i've read here changing the tranny fluid would help a bit pero didnt bother doing so kase i've found out that by shifting at a higher rpm around 3,500rpm from 1st to 2nd @ cold temps, the clonk is not there. ganun din kase experience ko from my previous cars.. but when everything is up to operating temperature, ayos naman na..

hoped i've help you with your questions papa

Good day! this is Shark Accessories Philippines and we would like to ask if anyone of you is interested to have their unit (preferably white) displayed in the upcoming Hot Import Nights in World Trade Center from April 20-21. We will be offering a plastic-carbon fiber composite construction body kit for the toyota 86. It would look like this. We need someone who is willing to have their unit fitted for the particular kit.

It's based on a concept 86 shown in Japan

>im planning to do mine @1k kms.
2. What oil viscosity do you use? 0w-20, 5w-30, etc.
>ill use 0w20, but still undecided which oil. Either redline oil, or whatever toyota has on their shelf. Or get the 0w20 from honda, which is made by idemitsu.
3. The first free 1,000kms check up from the dealer, what did they do? does this include changing the oil? toyota only offers the f.f. 20w-50 regular, 15w-50 semi, and 5w-40 syn. i think this is too thick.
>yes, these grades are too thick. If you cant find any 0w20, honda sells them.
4. People with M/T, did you already change your fluid? hows the 1-2 cold shifting? still hard/notchy?
>if youre having problems with shifting, try the redline mt fluid. Ive used it before on my honda. Works great!

guys update ko nalang dito.. baka your going the same route and finding this useful... iv'e recently purchased H&R Springs.. was deciding between springs or coilovers pero wanted to try these until my stock shocks gets busted. these springs are not the US spec but rather the Euro spec.. iba kase ang spring rates para sa US market and Euro Market because of road conditions that's why iba ang mga part #'s..

Scion FRS(US Spec) code:
H&R Sport Springs (PN: 54408)
H&R Super Sport Springs (PN: 54408-77)

GT86(Euro Spec) code:
Spring identification: 28856 VA(F) HA(R)

eto some pics ng package and springs

eto comparison to stock springs.. -35mm F/R

heres how it sits on my 86 while being serviced at Toyota
rims are 18x8.5 +35mm with 225/40/18 Federal 595S all around

Jdmasfcuk, perfect drop and rim combo! Gaaaanda! how does it handle road bumps and how does it feel on rebound? Tagatag?! Also much thanks on the reply regarding the first 1000kms check up. I did not know Toyota Philippines now carries 5w-30 weight oil. How does the engine feel now?

sabay ko kase kinabit yung 18's and springs kaya d ako makapag bigay ng exact feeback pero so far i am finding these softer than the oem springs + stock tires combo.. maybe because i am running 28psi(cold).. mas nawala ang "tagatag" sa dede ko ngayon hahahaha...

nga pala, need to cut the OEM bumpstops about 1" since the H&R springs did not come with aftermarket bumpstops

yung oil, nagkataon lang talaga they had it stocked 3 days prior to when i had it serviced... so nung nagpa schedule ako, they already had it on stock. il try to check my reciept para update ko dito magkano yung oil filter and engine oil. ang alam ko lang so far is our key costs 12k to replace

Engine feels the same.. walang pinagkaiba sa tancha~meter ko hehe.. bastat wala crickets, CEL and taillight condensation.. enjoy lang hehehe..
