GR86 is hands down more attractive than the FT86. Couple aspects bug me...

1. Rear tail lights are the biggest disappointment. FT86 lights weren't aesthetically amazing per say, but they are a very memorable, distinguishable light signature. These look so generic, like an 8th generation (FG1/2) Civic coupe. Not a good parallel to draw.
2. Side vents don't seem to work with the car compared to previous gen. Lower rocker treatment is overdone to me.
3. I like duck tails, but this looks awkward. Ducktails usually have smooth contours that blend with the trunk, but where the top of the trunk meets the tail is kinda herky-jerky.

I'm curious about the steering feel compared to the previous gen.

Unfortunately, vehicle emissions have been politized, and not by me. Sounds like you're on the side that's killing IC engines. Way to go.

Watching some of the videos of the GR86 U.S. reveal, I noticed something odd. The white premium on display has rivets in its bumper, but the red premium on the stage does not. The base red one also has the rivets. Is this inconsistency due to these being pre-production cars? Here are some screenshots.

Backup sensors? The automatic cars have some extra safety/convenience features I heard.

If Toyotas numbers are accurate, a gr86 automatic on e85 will be quicker than a current gen manual.

Found this in one of the reviews on YouTube:

This can be useful for track days.
I suspect we will also be able to get the tire pressures via OBD if they are communicated to the digital gauge cluster.

That’s awesome, useful info on the dash.

Those pressures seem quite high though. I guess they’re hot, that would make sense.

That makes sense. Since the manual GR86 doesn't have a lot of the Subaru safety gizmos, I assume that is why it is missing the sensors in the rear bumper. Another reason to buy the manual.
