I left the steering rack bushings for last, figuring they'd be easiest. Nope. I neglected to buy a puller or Cusco's own removal/install tool, figuring I could just MacGyver something with what I had laying around in the garage. That sort of worked... Big C clamp, some PVC, and a deep well socket to push against, and I got the OEM bushings out after much grunting and cursing.

But then on the install, I managed to cock the metal sleeve slightly sideways while pressing it in with the C clamp, and ruined the inboard bushings.

So now I get to order a new kit plus the tool. Damn rookie mistake.

Question though, does anybody recommend a little bit of grease to help ease the install of those bushings, or nah?

Installed PLM UEL headers, flashed OFT stage 2+, car feels a lot torquier at lower rpms now. 10/10 would do again.

Highly recommend the shift spring kit. It's even better when paired with a short shifter.
Better response and makes shifting a breeze

Why could the car not come like this from factory is beyond me. Love how the spring remove alot of the slop in the stock shifter

Just out of curiosity, what is the "TRD engine bay rice"?

Care to show what that is? I'm assuming it's a spelling error or a rare as hell part I've never heard of.

Engine bay rice was just oil filler cap and battery clamp which didn't even fit over the oem battery that comes with 2020 86 GT so it'll be a paperweight until i get a smaller battery

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Almost got the battery clamp myself but kinda glad to know it doesn't fit the OEM battery size.

Not sure if there are battery size difference between Canadian and US/ Zenki and Kouki models though.

I just measured the TRD clamp and the grooves that fit on the back and front top edges of the battery is 13cm. If your OEM battery is 13cm from the front to back along the top then the clamp will fit your battery

I honestly wouldn't have thought Japan models would have different batteries either lol. Would've thought aside from the rhd/lhd difference that the rest of oem parts would've been identical.

Anyways, got the blitz radiator, cusco oil cooler, cusco oil catch can installed yesterday. Today detailed the engine bay + dressed with carpro perl. Never ever getting rustcheck again. didn't realize how greasy and grimy it made everything in the engine bay.

Haha I appreciate that they put the redline exactly at 7450 RPM. That's some attention to detail right there.
