I understand it to be a copy of the spike protein. Are you saying that the injected mRNA may, as a byproduct of its main function, inadvertently create something that mutates ones own DNA?

Please don't encourage silly talk on this particular topic.

How or why should one begin to explain TAGC and TAGU to someone who hasn't studied the DNA or RNA molecule? Thats ridiculous. If I remember correctly from high-school TAGC are the cytosine bonds that hold a DNA molecules halves together when not unzipped. And RNA has similar but C is replaced with U.
Nothing to do with how cells synthesize protein in this case.
Not to be disrespectful but there is a whole bunch of scientists and doctors whose many years of research and experimentation have resulted in an understanding of DNA. You don't and can't take a crash course before being vaccinated.
Aside from the one lunatic Dr in the US whose YouTube tirade while he is driving caught some attention, 99.99% of doctors will be vaccinated without hesitation.
You decide.

I think it's reasonable goal for a layperson to develop enough understanding to logically refute the idea. I've just realized that I don't yet have it. This is an interesting read.

If you mean my comment on TAGC it's pretty unimportant to the layperson and I was literally pulling from memory of mid 80's biology courses so I used the wrong terminology, they are referred to as the base pairs. Pilot dude was either being facetious or seriously seeing something there that could be better explained if that is what helps.

DNA is a blueprint for a house. It produces little work orders (called mRNA) to make specific proteins , but the work orders aren't part of the blueprint and only work once.
Since we know our bodies can be primed to create a better immune response, we give it the work orders (mRNA) to synthesize the spike protein nlrmally found on the Covid19 virus. Once that protein is present, your body practices reacting to Covid19, even though it hasn't been attacked by the actual virus.
Your DNA never changes and your body fights the virus like a champ, avoiding severe pneumonia or other life threatening symptoms if you do eventually contract it.

@wbradley: My apologies. I hamfisted the response. I intended it as an extension of, rather than a response to, your comment. People need to make their own decisions without disinformation campaigns trying to scare them. The request was intended to be directed to p1lOt. Again, my apologies for muddying the water.

amusing past few pages of reads~

wbradley is mostly correct. The only thing off in his/her statements is that mRNA can have multiple ribosomes bound to the mRNA to have multiple translations (process of synthesizing proteins from mRNA) going off simultaneously. That being said most mRNA are very short lived and will be quickly digested by RNase.

I used to be proactive about weed whacking conspiracies, but I got jaded. And why do something that I'd get handsomely paid for on my free time ~

The less a person actually knows about a topic, the more annoyingly he/she tries to push his/her claims onto others.

So, what's a good way to whack this particular weed? All my queries have returned documents saying "take our word for it." mRNA doesn't enter the nucleus but perhaps some by-product does. I'm looking for a way to refute that.

If my approach is misguided, can you point me in the right direction?

Attended the wedding event on Sunday as mentioned earlier.

Both the wedding and the reception were outdoors, thanks to a break in the rain in NC yesterday.

All persons were masked, the event was less than 60 people and we were set apart far enough to meet social distancing requirements, although you were allowed to "group" chairs together in "social pods" of known family members.

It was a very strictly run affair but given that the Father of the Bride is a Command Sergeant Major in the 82nd Airborne/Rangers, that was probably expected!

I’m still alive. I just haven’t had much interest in this thread or regurgitating old talking points from last year to the new wacko. I also haven’t really seen much new information about the vaccines. People just need to take the vaccine. At this point, we will have endemic deaths because there will be anti-vaxxers, but as long as hospitalizations stay low, so we don’t have an impacted healthcare system with collateral deaths then that’ll have to do.

Have I missed anything exciting?

My brother is doing the anti-vax thing. My wife and parents should all be vaccinated early April. It’ll be nice to get to see them.

Great to hear from you! Nothing really. If you don't mind scrolling back the last couple days, I've decided on an exercise to try to learn enough to explain how it's impossible for mRNA to affect DNA. Turned out to be quite a challenge. The link I shared discusses RNA-to-DNA from an evolutionary standpoint but doesn't help me with a direction to study.

Are you able to support this?

My middle son has an appointment for his first dose tomorrow. When he's done the immediate household will be fully covered.
