That’s good to hear. Thanks for the update. I tried a paper template and found at least the wheel does not clear the GT caliper. I have a hard time to find the correct template file for the BM4, so I purchased AP racing endurance kit instead.

I don't bother using the templates, there are enough people running common track wheels with all the available BBKs you can find the answer online. In fact I gave you the answer previously. That said, the AP Racing Endurance kit is also a good choice, although I think their rotor design is very much focused no track use only and isn't as friendly on the street.

I'm fairly certain you were sent the BM4 template.

Any wheel that clears the AP Endurance kit will also also clear the BM4.

I printed the template you sent me but it has the same spec of the GT4 caliper where I can find online. And yes the template you sent me does not fit my wheels. I also printed the template from endurance kit and it fits fine.

Does this include the 17x9 +35 RPF1s?! :O

I've seen these on the CSG site, and I've been interested, but the AP Endurance kit has basically been the only kit that fits under that wheel, even if it's super close. I'll eventually get the itch to find the template and actually go figure out if it'll fit, but your words are encouraging.

Why do you think so?

According to their template, the caliper only sticks out 25.9 mm from the face of the rotor hat.
Pretty sure this is significantly less than that of the B-M4 caliper?
That means that certain wheels with spokes running closer to the face of the rotor will hit B-M4, but clear the AP Racing CP8350 caliper in their "Competition Endurance" kit.

Apologies, this was the wrong link (to the 300mm rotor).

Here's the link to the 325mm rotor:
https://www.essexparts.com/storage/w...l_template.pdf
Even in this kit, the caliper only sticks out 26.0 mm from the face of the rotor hat.

@CSG Mike: How does the BM4 performance (Thermal capacity, rotor and pad life) compare to the OEM PP's (assuming the same pad mat'l?

Discs can vary in quality based on the metallurgy and manufacturing processes. While the base materials are the same elements, the quality control of the material is different. As a result, different manufacturers have different characteristics inherent in their discs. Based on the origin of the disc, you can almost spot where the discs are manufactured. Is that a bad quality to have? Not necessarily. If price point is what people are looking for as their number one criteria, then parts need to be manufactured in specific locations to bring the price point down. If quality is what you're looking for, you'll find that the engineering involved and the metallurgical characteristics will be superior.

Consistency is what drives the cost up and what people pay for. You'll find that the factory OEM system is quite capable and people tend to throw in much lower quality products at it hoping it will provide benefit. The friction material is one of the most important aspects in brake performance. Adding that component to a high quality kit will further maximize the potential of the brake system.

We have tested a majority of brake systems and compounds available in the market. If you have any questions on brake systems and goals to improve brake performance, you may contact us via PM or e-mail.

Does anyone have a photo of the back of the caliper / brake line when installed on the car?

Thermals are similar. The BM4 has a significantly stiffer caliper, which leads to better pedal feel and a much higher resistance to radial taper wear.

The best illustration is how much larger the BM4 is compared to the OEM PP, while using the same dimension rotor and pad shape.

The BM4 can also use thicker pads than OEM.

Can the BM4 calipers be swapped in on Performance Brakes by a mechanic/tuner, or is it necessary (or at least a very good idea) to just buy the full brake kit?

No, you need the full kit.
