No melting, no overheating. I have been meaning to add some radiator ducting now that the AC is all gone.
@GSpeed Time Attack and Racing are nowhere near the same stress test on our cooling system. You aren't bumper to bumper with anyone, ever, in TT/TA, let alone for multiple laps. Even a supercharged 86 will overheat in race traffic without some serious cooling mods. The biggest restriction is the OEM crash bar. Upgrade to the JDL drift bar and I'm confident you can race a turbo car. I went from heating up after 3 race laps to being able to make the car go full cold on grid with the fans on. During the last race of the season, I completed the race with completely blown head gaskets (from the previous 2 seasons of compromised cooling) without ever overheating or even getting hotter than normal. My setup is JRSC with oil coolers, FMIC, Koyo rad, no AC, manual fan switch, full metal ducting to radiator, Trackspec hood vents. It will never overheat again with this setup.

Not sure you meant to mention us there, but I'd definitely agree. We'll be making a race-capable cooling package for the Edelbrock supercharger, though.

My intent was to answer this question. I do believe turbo heat is manageable with the OEM bumper bar removed. It makes a massive difference in air flow to the radiator unless you completely fill the front opening with a giant FMIC.

Wow, there are some beautiful cars in this thread, I'm humbled.

My 2013 Toyota 86 is still 100% road legal.
I've only done Vortech SC, exhaust, tune, camber bolts, aftermarket brakes, and 225/45R17 RE11s semis on 17x7.5 rims.

It's not a dedicated track car.
I do fun track days, and some quite serious time attack events, but my wife and I (60+ wrinklies) still like to have a comfortable
and fun road car to just enjoy!!

It's done 31 days on track with no serious problems at all. Just a hellova lot of tyres and brake pads.

Here's an assortment of pics from various events. I hope you enjoy them.
