Fucking classic example of an honest hard working man getting fucked in the ass on a sandy beach by the dealership's service department.

Absolutely revolting and abhorrent behavior by the dealership.

Just for satisfaction, If I were you, I would post your experience with that dealer on every local forum available. Google, Yelp, BBB, etc. Don't rant, just be factual. You may save someone else a headache and there is a possibility someone higher up at the dealership may take notice.

yep. sitting outside the dealership entrance on public property with a lawn chair, your cars hood up, and a sign saying "_____ screwed up my car", you don't need to say a word, but they start taking notice really fast.

We had a guy around here that did something like that. He stood at a busy intersection near the local Kia dealership with a sign that said they messed up his car. I'm pretty sure that he was retired and had the time.

Giving back to the community. I could think of worse ways to spend retirement.

The removal/installation procedure is pretty clear in the manual. I haven't looked at much in a while but I believe you are supposed to index crank and cams on timing marks, remove timing chain from bank one, then reindex to different timing marks and remove bank two timing chain. It sounds like he tried to remove bank 2's timing chain while on the first set of marks and it spun and hit the piston or it had valve on valve contact. I would call Toyota's customer service and explain the situation. It may put pressure on the dealer.

When I had to deal with SoA, it was a cluster fuck. Pissing into the wind would be more productive.

I’d rather try and fail then not try.

You at least made the attempt and exhausted options.
