Rally, Safari, Lifted BRZ & 86

There was an old thread about dirt prepped BRZs hidden in the gallery forum but I thought a new one in a more obvious spot would be useful. Those older cars were using spacers above the struts to raise the suspension, but without increasing travel and they had suspension geometry issues. I'm interested in getting clearance for taller tires and more travel while keeping near stock alignment and avoiding durability problems from awkward angles.

So, post your photos, what you've found that works, and what results in rubbing or worse.

I looked at their website hoping to see something on the car builds but found nothing. I found a shop in Denver that has done this type of work on Outbacks and Crosstreks and they're willing to take crack at a BRZ but the more knowledge I can bring them the better. I'm hoping to find longer shocks/springs and control arms meant for more travel and taller ride height.

Call get-primitive.com. Been doing rally stuff on subies for years, they may have some ideas.

Tires/wheels you could find 15in wheels and then put some off-road tires on, I think it would fit stock

I've been meaning to research wheel fitment but maybe someone here knows this:
There's 2 sizes of brakes available stock on the BRZ/86, right?
Which size wheels fit over each set?

That is an extremely broad question that could have hundreds of answers. Unless you simply mean diameter wise. In which case I believe people have done 16's and RARELY as low as 15, but the barrel has to be shaped properly for the standard brake package. I believe it might be unlikely or impossible to go below 17's for the performance package with Brembo's. If you're talking something other than wheel diameter, then it's very broad. The standard brakes fit most wheels of a variety of sizes and offsets. See link below for standard brake wheel fitment:

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535

The Brembo brakes make it much harder to find wheels that fit, but there are still tons of them out there. The only directory that has ever been made for some general fitments is in the link below. Otherwise it's up to do your research and contact the wheel manufacturer.

^Okay, what I really was wondering is if 16s fit over the larger brakes and you confirmed my suspicion. I loved those brakes on my STi but every time I was on dirt I wished I had 16s.
