How much did you put it on? I was thinking just the front bumper but after seeing the luck my car has maybe the bumper and hood for me.

Finally picked it up last night! My brother and I drove it around for 4 hours from 7 - 11, an hour of which was just me going from 0-5 mph in a Sam's parking lot. It is a ton of fun to drive and looks amazing even at night. Empty roundabouts at 35 was easily the highlight. Going to drive it around more in the evenings before I take it out during rush hour.

Hey guys, picking up my Hyperblue BRZ on Friday or Saturday. Have a deposit in for the last one on the island. First BRZ, second Subaru (big turbo STi), coming from a laundry list of FI cars. Pictures later!

2) Honolulu, HI
3) 741
4) DD for now, likely a weekender when I start going through with my long term plans.

Um. lol.

They forgot to include the black trim on the fender vents.

Question... do my eyes deceive me or is the factory head unit shaped different?

I noticed the same thing, so I went to the Subaru site, and they have changed both the head unit, bezel and panel above the glove box.

I think I'll have to see this in person. Wonder if it can be easily retrofitted to older models.

Problem is the dash trim is unique to the HB.

Head unit is the new star link thing and the faux carbon fiber bit is muted grey / black.

I think I saw other 86's with much brighter trim, but they understated everything in the interior except the Blue stitching

Yeah it's funny, I hate fake CF, especially the Scion dash but this is pretty nice.

I don't think so. The Subaru website doesn't even list the HyperBlue among the regular options when building/configuring a car. The interior view for all colors shows the new dash and head unit.

Actually yeah, good eye. From the interior pictures of the 16 Limited you can see the CF dash and red stitching, so it's not like they borrowed a HB shot.

I'm admittedly the slightest bit irked about them reshaping the head unit though. Now if I want to fit something aftermarket, I'd need some sort of filler or installation kit, and it'll likely look weird... I'm a fan of making things look as OEM as possible, though.

I agree with you 100%. I wonder if manufacturers do this intentionally to thwart owners that want to swap head units.

I would like a closer look though. Since everything else about the dash pretty much looks the same as previous models, I can't help but wonder if only the bezel has changed. Meaning, you could probably swap bezel and connecting dash panel with 2015 and older BRZs for plug and play options.

I'm sure someone will confirm before long.
