Real world MPG?

My SWP is only about 400 miles. I got about 27 local and 34 highway. Wondering what kind of numbers you guys can get out there, esp. after break in. I am mildly satisfied by the number. If it is 36, I would be very happy.

I averaged 41.6 MPG on a trip to Maine from Boston. Not bad.

If I drive easy, I get around 29mpg. I like having a bit more fun with going from lights since I figured out how to drive a manual. I'm getting around 25 now.

I have not reset my in-dash monitor in all the 8800 miles on the car. It reads 27.7. That's with all kinds of driving mixed in. Has anyone established how accurate it is?

I drive "spirited" but mostly short trips less than 20 miles.
I get about 31 MPG on 91 at 5000 feet alt.
I havent had it on a trip longer than ~120 miles.

My wife gets the same in her Passat TDI but in very short trips less than 5 miles.
When she travels long dist. she gets 54 MPG

Best I've gotten with my AT was 34mpg over July weekend in packed traffic in the mountains of PA. Most of the time I average around 30. Seems like the MPG gets better with miles. We'll see how it goes after tuning. Hoping to get a good MPG map so I can switch to putt-putt mode on the freeway for road trips.

I usually get around 25, 27-30 if I'm boring. I don't know how anyone can keep it at or over 28 at all with this car. Gotta have fun in the car sometimes.

I rarely use freeways. I'm lucky to get 22 mpg. :/
