Complete power out after stall, came back in about 5 mins?
Hi everyone,
Had something really strange happen on the weekend. I was creeping through a slow area/gateed entrance and accidentally stalled, but as soon as it turned off, it went completely off. Everything was off, like the battery had been disconnected. I checked all the terminal fuses, and everything was okay. After about 4-5minutes it just came back on and I was able to start the car again. The dashboard and radio had reset like the battery was disconnected. Has anybody experienced this and what might have caused it? |

Auto or manual trans?
Well, if it's been a few years usually 3-4 year an oem battery might be on its way out. Or... check the terminals for excessive corrosion and or loose clamp.

It would be a good idea to clean an tighten your terminals then.
These kits are a little gimmicky, but they do seem to work. I put one on every one of my cars, haven't had a green sea monster in quite a while. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...inal+protector

That joint between the lead terminal and the plastic housing is the weakest part of the battery. Because lead is so soft, it takes very little torque to crack the seal. Once it starts leaking, the only cure is a new battery.
It's all in how the terminals are handled when installing or removing the leads. Don't over-tighten, and always support the lead while torquing the fastener. Also, when purchasing a new battery, avoid those that show even the slightest hint of weeping around the terminals. They're already goners.
