I still don't let my dad drive my car, let alone a stranger.

I had something like this happen the first week I had it, I had stopped by the dealership after getting a call from the sales manager I had worked with (this was early june). After running in to see what was up I came out to find a guy and his wife checking out the car.

The random call was to give me one of the FR-S hats , I still have it in my trunk.

They were surprised I even let them sit in it and move stuff around, they didn't ask to drive it or anything though.

You're pretty brave letting that happen, lol. I get nervous with my gf driving it.....she's hit parked things in a miata....and gets nervous in traffic sometimes. so yeah. atlanta.

edit: I've been meaning to let my dad / uncle drive it....though I know I'm going to need new tires afterwards.

Maybe he'd let me drive his Police Interceptor........ Our town has a bunch of the Dodge Charger cars..... maybe he has one

Putting myself in the OPs shoes, I probably would have let the guy drive my car also. Sometimes you just need to trust your gut. Sure, there are a lot of con men out there, but when someone is genuinely excited about this car, you can tell.

Great story, hope to hear a followup where you get out of a ticket or something

Sadly, I think the cops can get in trouble if they let a civvy drive one of their cars...that aside, would be pretty sweet if it happened

It's great how I didn't even have to watch the clip to know exactly the store Jay tells. One of the best guest interviews on Top Gear... I love when he lists Jay's cars....or tries.

I'd be more interested in driving the new Ford Interceptor.

Haha good point. But I don't think my county can afford to shell out the money for new police cars haha

I've let my son use my car many times...I've even let his girlfriend take it to work before. It's just a car man...
