Are those the wide fenders, or the normal CF Ones?

Are you going to get the fenders / hood painted?, I know it's CF and all that but the mismatched colors would drive my OCD to the brink

They are the 10mm wider ones. I have 10mm spacers not yet installed to compensate for the tuck.

Painted CF

I totally agree! I hated it at first, but since this is my DD, I don't want to give my car up to the paint shop for a week. I call it my frankenstein car right now. LOL

I drive into work at 5:45am and it all looks black. On the way home I get a bit self-conscience about it.

Ultimately, I will get it painted and leave the area past the vents CF.

On another note:
I just bought my son a 2014 BRZ Premium with some front damage and as we get that build underway and ready to show, I will find some time to get mine painted.

Looks like your Password JDM carbon fiber gurney flap is long gone but I had a question. It looks like they recommend applying a UV protection clear coat, did you do this or anything similar? I'm concerned about long term longevity, which is why I'm considering this over the rubber STI version which I can see getting worn by the weather.

Yea, it got water marks the first time it rained and the sun dried the spots. Light compound got them out, but it only got worse. Clear coat would have prevented this type of marring. I kept it maintained so anyone would really have to look close, but it always bugged me.

Side note...My son took the car to a Scion dealer to retrieve a part that he was needing for a car he was working on. Pulled it into the shop area, and believe it or not, all of the techs crowded around the car and all echoed that the gurney flap was the absolute best mod on the car. LOL...

Definitely a mod that's not seen as often as the the other trunk aero mods.

Does the Password JDM gurney install like the STI one? I know the STI gurney recommends you drill into the stock wing as well using 3m tape. I know some guys skip the drilling part, and I may do the same, just wondering what the recommended install is for the Password JDM.

I just used the supplied tape. Prepped well and mounted it. Never even moved or felt loose in any way. Practice keying yourself on where the best fit is, then take your time. Helps if you have someone else there.

Note: There is a silver "PasswordJDM" badge riveted on the back side. Since my car was fully debaged, some passers by would comment to themselves that they have never heard of a "PasswordJDM" car, but it looked nice.....

New Project Car

My son and I picked up a project car for him yesterday in San Antonio. I am glad it fits in the garage! We measured, and we could fit 5 total with no problems....The wife did not like that idea very much...

Aerocatch Installed

I installed the Aerocatch hood pins yesterday. Been so busy last few weeks working on my son's 2014 Premium rebuild, that it was nice to spend an hour or two on my car. Also, got a nice windshield crack that will force me to get a new windshield next week.

Kinda late to the show here, but can you tell me your opinion on the new halo fog lights regarding light output (while driving, not aesthetically as that looks awesome) I've always hate the stock fog output on these cars. I would appreciate it, thanks.

I drive to work at 5:45am on a stretch of road notorious for deer. Anything that I can do to help with the forward vision works for me. To be honest, the 6k bulbs make the biggest difference and not the fogs or fog halo's... The always on DRL does help though. Put them all together and I think I have an advantage over the deer! LOL

Got the car up to 86mph (son driving) and noticed that the hood did not move at all. Prior to the Aerocatch, the hood would bend up to 1/2" at the highest point. Scary to think that it might have come loose and smacked me at high speeds. Great mod for looks, but better mod for safety!
