Sound like a overkill! I know, but even with that it get a little out off range.
That's only on spirit driving or back roads... If constant speed 55-65mph all fluids keep 185-190f.

The cooling overkill?

The goal at the beginning was a reliable FI system that could hold the beating all day long and the next day and then every day. I think I achieve that very well at the first attempt (on this platform). The 4G63 is a drag monster that could be use on the back roads but keep an eye on oil/coolant temps.
Track? Only 1/8 and 1/4 mile.

So could you use your car on the back roads without overheating? How about track?...

I use my car on the back roads, side roads, front roads, and track. One turbo, one oil cooler, and 300 whp with 15 track days so far. Just came back from Laguna Seca today, and my water temps peaked at 205F and oil temps at 203F. It's possible!!

Don't be such a "funny man"...

With all your respect could you tell everyone the outside temps yesterday at Laguna seca.

I did the back road trip with avg speed of 30 mph and 18.5 mpg with Sunoco 100 octane and 4hours of fun.. Outside temps 106f

The front road? Is that the highway? Be careful with cops...

Why so serious? I wasn't even trolling you. I'm merely pointing out that you can have a reliable and simple turbo setup that you can beat on too!

It was late Feb, of course ambient temps are cool in NorCal. I've tested this setup in 90F ambient and oil and water temps peaked at 215F. I'll have to wait until summer to test it in 100+ temps, but so far, temps have been rock solid.

And by "tested," I mean multiple 20-25 min sessions on track. I can drive spiritedly on the street, but I can't put anywhere near the load/stress that it'll see on track.

Want to go turbo...

Heat is holding me back.

Coolant keep his temp ok even with the load of the AT.
Oil, let's say that currently is as it should from OEM (we all know that in hot climate even NA see high temps).
So with turbo we add more power every were? Yes!! But not only that's the additional heat, now we have to cool down the turbo, the hotter the better (for exhaust gas speed)... So maybe an additional 10 rows (maybe 19 more) for the turbo heat. Really don't know.

Or maybe I'm just paranoid about temps.

In my opinion and I could only speak for my area, a turbo isn't going to be an issue over oem oil temps unless you're flooring the car most of the time. Regular street driving, stop and go traffic is what I see all day in 80+ weather and not a single problem. So if the "heat" is topping you fork adding a turbo then maybe you have other plans.

I'm running a setrab series 9, 25-row cooler. It's overkill for the street, but does its job at the track.

The first option for oil cooler was a mocal 34 rows... It would fit behind the fog light, but at the time there was no drift armor and need that space for the front brake cooling... But holding up with 20 rows.

I have an upgraded radiator and laminova oil cooler and I see higher temps daily driving.

I'm not trying to sell nothing (not a product, maybe an idea), the thing is report what (we) are seen so other members in the future could do they builds and don't be surprise with the results...

So a family member buy a 2015 FRS, the first advice was to buy a VIDI and keep an eye on temps. Second that it needs an oil cooler (that is a must, or at least I tough). After that I sell him the injen intake and OFT... What do you think happen?! His car never get out of range, no heat issues!?!? I didn't understand, he show me the log and it was completely true... Whaaaaaaat the fvck is wrong with my car??? But I look closer I could see no heavy loads, mmmmm. So get into the car and went for a ride (as passenger), yep no heavy loads what so ever... It will be call happy Sunday, why? I found my next FRS, garage keep, wash and wax 2 times/month, senior owner, that thinks hi abuse the car for taking it next to redline ones in a wild and isn't a DD.

So there you have it!
Is combating the heat or combating my driving style (habits)?
