I've always wanted to check out Deals Gap. Looks like a fun stretch of road. How is the traffic?

Traffic isn't terrible. The worst part has become the state troopers who will pull you for even inching over the yellow line, on your side of the road. We have two s2000 drives a year up there and it's incredible. It's new every single time.

One more in the USA

Bearthooth Highway in MT/WY

After watching Top Gear, I want to drive the Trans***arasan in Romania. It really does look like a Grand Prix race track:

Ummm.... Beartooth looks... scary. Maybe it's just because the picture is zoomed out really far.

There's an entrance to the trace literally a few miles from where I live (or rather, where my dad lives). Been down a majority of the Mid Tenn. section, and yes it is gorgeous, with some curvy sections. But the THP still loves to patrol it, not as bad as the dragon, but they're there.

There are some amazingly maintained (or I guess, never traveled ergo not in terrible shape) back roads around here out in the sticks. Since Mid Tenn. is naturally a hilly place, it makes for a great afternoon checking them out. Just not a place you wanna get lost...

The trace is a gorgeous piece of road, but there's no real 'challenging' sections to it (at least around here). Its a great cruising road though for photo ops and what not, especially in fall. The dragon isn't really close either...good 3 hours away at least. Its popularity has exploded and with it more and more people make the trip there, so it can be crowded at times. Plus the Tennessee Highway Patrol is there in what seems like a cruiser for every mile on the road. I'd consider the people who live close to the canyon roads to be a bit luckier.

I read on autoblog that the new speed limit on sections of I-10 will be 85mph; it's no autobahn, but it's a step in the right direction

people will be reaching 100 mph on that!!! but generally people will hit 90~95mph ( or maybe not?, they might get scared and actually slow down)
