According to the manual, video playback is only available via USB.
DVD playback is not supported. Another confirmation. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4930

The nav is loaded from an sd card, right? I'm guessing it won't read "dvds" then, just video files through the usb connection. (someone should verify that though)

Well if its only supported from USB that will also mean the lock-out feature in the unit which prevents you from watching while driving will be disabled. Im only assuming this because the unit probably wont have any sort of lock-out device anyway. Can anyone verify?

I'm sure it will have a lock out, if only to limit lawsuits. And I'm quite sure that video playback will be disabled while the car is moving as it's a distraction hazard.
On the plus side, the head unit does have the Divx logo. so Divx encoded movies should play. |

Does the headunit say "DIVX" on it? I hate it when they put that shit on there but don't really play

Hope so Does that mean we can bypass the dvd-player restriction where you can only play videos when the car is in park?

I wish we got the JDM nav unit, it's so much nicer than what we got.

I like the regular head unit that the BRZ gets in those European ones. Doesn't have NAV or big ass screen, but who needs that when we all prolly already have Garmins and AUX cables, right?
