Finally got everything mounted. Wish it wasn't night so I could take some proper pictures. Anyways this thing feels like a boat in the rear and I think it has to do with these funky control arms I bought to camber the rear in

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F172482094142

Anyways I'll align it and figure it out

Avid av20 +38 18x9.5
Michelin Sport AS3+
245/35 Front
275/35 Rear

Those guys on eBay are just reselling these guys.

https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/prod...pw-rlca-sf.htm

I'm thinking of putting the bigger bushings on instead of the small swiveling one with the black extensions.

Also probably not a bad idea to get toe arms as one of mine is almost seized

It feels like a boat because you paired heavy wheels which are pretty wide with wide tires and on top of that its staggered...

It’s a lot better now, I used the stiff wide bushings instead of the thin ones.

So I did my alignment today and figured out what the boat feeling / oversteer was about. Had .30 and .45 toe out from my new control arms. Made them .1 toe in and it feels so much better!

Generally speaking, a diameter difference of + or - 3% is acceptable.

215/45/17 is 24.6" diameter (stock size)
225/45/17 is 25.0" diameter +1.6%
235/45/17 is 25.3" diameter +2.8%
255/40/17 is 25.0" diameter +1.6%

245/45/17 is 25.7" diameter +4.5%

For size comparison, in the pics above of the 275/35/18 on the rear has a diameter of 25.6"

I have seen a few guys run a 245/45/17 without rubbing on a 17X9 +38. (rubbing will also depend on how much you are lowered)

It will change your gearing though. For DD, I don't think it would be that bad. For track, 245/45/17 is not ideal.

^ Hello fellow Torontonian.

Current setup is 17x9.5 +36 TE37SL vs. 17x9.5 +45 TE37 Saga with 3mm spacers last year. Both sets wrapped in 255/40 and -3.3F/-2.4R for camber. The Sagas rubbed at full lock but no issues with the SLs. Concavity is much better on the SLs and makes the Sagas look flat in comparison.

I have the 18x8.5 +35 with 245/35. I think the 245/40 17s like that probably a little better ride still looks good especially if you drop it over an inch.. so props I like it. I don't really want to drop mine over inch because I don't want that much neg camber in the back and toe in. I don't want LCA and links in the back at this time. So my 18s look a little better in that scenario, but they don't ride as good and tires are more expensive
