ITRExpo 14: 2 day HPDE at Road America $410 before 3/1, $425 from 3/1-4/1, $440 after

Registration is open for ITR Expo 2014. This even is open to all drivers and cars, it is not Honda/ITR specific. Price for drivers includes the HPDE (run groups will be Novice, Int and Advanced), event T-Shirt, and a nice dinner/raffle entry for the night of June 30th. Instructor fee covers the instructors track day (separate Instructor run group), dinner/raffle entry and event T-Shirt. Guest fee covers dinner/raffle entry and probably an event t-shirt (different color than drivers/instructors).

- Location: Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI
- Banquet: TBA
- Dates: June 30 - July 1, 2014
- Schedule: TBA
- Cost:
-- Drivers: $410 before Mar. 1, $425 before April 1, and $440 after the April 1 deadline.
-- Instructors: $100
-- Guests/Non-Drivers: $50
Go to http://www.itrexpo.com to register!

This is a rare opportunity to drive at one of the most premier tracks.

Registration is open drivers, instructors, and non-drivers for all make/model cars!

Feel free. Have HPD ship it with a car they might bring. We will be heading to King Motorsports and/or RTR probably as well. RealTime will be there, Peter Cunningham will be there and possible PK as well.

Has to pass the broomstick test though.

Edit: Just checked, there are 3 S2K's signed up and paid currently

A few GT3s also.

I should bring both my BRZ and ITR so I can sell my ITR to @Dave-ROR after the event is done lol.

What's the rule for ride-alongs?

Solo drivers can take passengers as long as they are adults. If you screw up with a passenger you lose the session and the privilege to take passengers out.

I'm guessing beginners and intermediates will have instructors? Do the instructors let you ride solo and give ride-alongs once they're comfortable with the student?

I'm going to slouch into my bucket...with a 3-point seatbelt...

On side note, I was thinking about applying to HPD to become an engineer there as I have a few contacts in there, but Santa Clarita is going to suck in the summer...

Yes, although that's more likely for an intermediate student. With a two day even many novices will get signed off for the second day or part of it but it's not a sure bet. It obviously depends on the student. However since everyone is very chill at this event you can get a ride for the person in basically any experienced drivers car.

Pull yourself down in the seat lol

That's why I rarely tracked my S2K, most east coast groups required the broomstick test and I could never pass it

HPD has been great to work with from a grassroots side and Honda/Acura/HPD have been great to work with on the Expo side of things too

If I slide my seat back enough and slouch a bit, I pass the broomstick with the helmet...buhahaha

Just gotta slide and do the gangster lean to drive away and then roll the seat back up while I drive off. On a side note, I've seen several S2k rollovers with no aftermarket roll protection. Usually 100mph rolls. They faired quite well to say the least.

Yeah for us it comes down to negligence. We can't risk a lawsuit as we are purposely priced to generate as close to zero profit as possible.

Plus I can't let setups that I wouldn't trust on track in good conscience. S2K's do tend to hold up well but with any roadster there are increased risks (helmet on curbing while OEM bar is in the sand next to curbing, etc...)

Wish I had the time and patience to drive 20+ hours to this! looks like a blast! You couldn't have picked a better time of the year to host an event up there.

Yea I've seen more than enough rolls. I've seen two great polar bears in a stock CR roll several times without any issues. CR was totalled. I have also seen a Miata owner who is extremely lucky to be alive...he has an SCCA approved bar but his hardtop ripped off and you can see 3 helmet dimples in the Buttonwillow dirt...

Unfortunately, all other roadsters do not fair well...the S2k for some reason does really well. I definitely don't want to be a statistic though.
