Help! STI push start button / Ignition switch

I Want to get the red PSB/IS for my 2019 BRZ limited.
Did a search and got confused with so many part # for the JDM STI and USDM versions.
Do not need the indicator light (like the wrx) but it would be great if the letters light up when you turn on the car.

The STI (latest) Part# ST83031ST031
and the US Subaru part # 83031CA023 are the latest part numbers I found.

1) Any difference between them?
2) Both will fit me AT 2019 limited -plug and play?
3) Do the letters light up when turning on the car or when the dome light is on?

I was aware of some topics and replies regarding the PSB, but there were so many numbers around and most of the posts were kind of old.

Thanks (Would really appreciate if you can share some pics)

The lights on the CA023 come on with the lights. I assume the ST031 is the same.

Also, a little cheaper here

So, I was wrong. The button lights up when the car is on, not with the lights.

Edit- Seems I may have been fooled by having my sun shade on.
Will need to play around with it a bit.

I have the original JDM STi start button and the “STi” logo lights up when I put my hand on the door sensor. Sometimes even when I’m walking by the car. I think it stays lit regardless if the headlights are on, and will turn off when I lock the car.

I just ordered the 83031CA023 yesterday for my US 2017 Brz Limited. Hopefully it works with no problems. Interested to find out though if this is the actual module that senses and connects with your individual key fob.

Please, let us know if you have the similar function that Norcalpb’s JDM has. Thanks

Function as to when the lights turn on? I would suspect that it operates the same as how the stock black push button works.

I messed about with mine a bit. It does come on when unlocking and getting into the car. If the lights are off it does turn off when you start the car. It lights up with the headlights, and has a delay to turn off when the lights are turned off.

Then It's very similar to the stock black PSB.

It works exactly the same way, the only difference is the lettering is different and so the backlighting is obviously different from the black button. Functionality is the same though.
