Exclamation I need closure

This is really fucking random but on nights like these this shit keeps me up for hours-thinking about what if.

I know how to pick the standard house lock-not because I steal shit from people, was just a curious teen and well YouTube existed as well. Came in handy when I forgot my key as a kid and just used a safety pin and pen clip...

Anyway my question to you is-is it possible to pick a lock into someone's glove box?
More specifically a newer mercedes Benz. Or is the key layout for the glove box the same as the actual car key?

Long story short, I got into the car with this guy on the first date and he opened his glove box to show me 100k in cash in attempt to impress me I assume. Prior to this he left me in the car alone so he could run inside, and well me being me and watching as many action movies as I do I can't stop thinking about pulling off an epic heist.

Could I have taken it and got away? Is it really as easy as it is in the movies? Just delete everything and smash your phone to not leave a trace?

And if anyone has a creepier encounter/or way worse first date story that would make me feel better by all means please share.

I have a friend who has a creepier first date story.

Yes it is easy to just disappear but you have to be willing to make the sacrifices of having contact with literally no one that you use to. Does 100k cash justify it? Maybe yes, maybe no. You'd definitely have to invest some of it to get a return because working anywhere generates a paper trail. But, like everything there is ways it can be done.

And the above story? To make a long one short, a friend of mine was at a club and this guy wanted her to go home with him. They made out and fooled around in and around the club but she didn't leave with him. A couple of weeks later she developed extremely bad breath and felt super sick with a list of symptoms. Went to the Dr. said it was a rare disease that is only developed by eating dead and decaying flesh...typically human.

They contacted the police, went to the guys apt and he had been killing and ate the flesh of one of his victims.

@Asphalt~86 dat shit cray!! like wth, imagine the what if scenarios...

@IntotheOcean I dunno about merc's, but the Honda's I've driven over the years, the lock for the glove box was pretty simplistic. usually only composing of a few tumblers and a quick pivoting latch. (ie. the car key would go in and through the other end, only using a couple of the teeth to unlock the mechanism.)

you could very easily pick this lock... or if on steroids just hulk the glove box open with pure womanly strength, haha. is it worth it for a mere 100k? hellz to the f-noes. 100k it not worth the trouble of having to go into hiding for what could be years if not decades depending on how unstable this guy is.

if in your case I would of played "the long con" method. ie. date the man for a while and slowly take all his money away through gifts and stealing. if he can withdraw a hundred grand from the bank that morning to flaunt in your face that evening, then you better know he has a lot more where that came from. since you like movies, Cameron Diaz was in a movie where she did just that; dye your hair blonde and call that fool, haha.

You should have went home with him, then killed him and ate him, then taken the money.

Full wallet and a full stomach!

Glad to see cannibalism is still fair game. I like my rich guys sauteed in butter with a dash of cracked pepper.

The short answer is yes, you can get in to a glove box, much easier than youd think. It depends on the car and the lock, but typically, the easiest way to accomplish this is to pry the door of the glove box downward, away from the console enough that the latch of the lock slips out, et voila! Your in!

On some of them, you can reach up behind the cosole, and pull down on the plastic backing to the glove box till it bends or breaks, and take what you need.

You can also pry the opposite side of the glove-box door with something, then pull hard, the door will bend/twist outward enough to get an arm inside the box, no key required.

You can also pick the locks with a hair-pin, but thats a little more challenging. not much but definitely do-able. This would be the stealth option, if your trying to make it so the person doesnt realize whats happened for awhile.

If that guy had 100k in cash in his glove box, then mickey mouse has diamond boxers he wears. hes unbelievably idiotic, a con artist, or a drug dealer that has no idea what hes doing. That money shouldve been put in a firesafe box in the trunk of the car. He probably had his registration card in the glovebox too right, so if an officer pulled him over and asked for his liscence and registration?

Makes no sense, you have to stop and wonder, why would someone happen to have that money in the glove box? The money is either fake or real. If its fake, he was just trying to impress you but more pressingly, if it was real, than why would it be in the most unsecured place in the car? If he was a drug dealer, a 100k cash is pretty big business, he wouldnt be at that level if hes dumb enough to leave it in a car glove box and show you on a first date. Even con-artists, dont operate with 100k. Its just too big a number to be believable on any con.

If you steal the guys $100K, you'll probably end up disappearing for good whether you like it or not.

Could you have taken it? Yes.

Would you have been caught? Yes.

Will it drive you crazy for the rest of your life? Prolly.

I wonder what to expect from the second date?

I think he might had a better chance of sealing the deal if he just drove an frs instead. Even without the 100k. Am I right or am right?

Just when I thought I've heard it all. She's lucky she didn't leave with that pyscho.

And @IntotheOcean, I'd say that more than half of my friends would have broken into the glove box and be on their way. Dude is stupid for thinking that's something worth showing off.
