It looks the same and costs less.

Depends, some LS engines have a quite a lot of room to work on both sides. They are a little more complicated indeed. I hate opening up a hood and seeing no space in the engine bay, biggest turn off when buying a car.

It doesn't look quite the same...and it sure doesn't feel/drive the same way.

They don't. Driven both. Many times. (I work for a rental company). Really, the scat pack is the one you want, sounds like a proper v8 that should be in a muscle car, not the 5.7 that sounds like a truck motor. Even then, 5.7>>>>>>>>>>V6. The 6 is for someone that wants an EcoBoost mustang with 4 doors. All the looks of a muscle car to pick up them chicks at a bar filled mainly with 50 year old dudes and up, but none of the performance so you don't scare em away lol

The lower end/smaller motor/cheaper options are for those who just want the badge at an attainable price.

The V8's are for the people who actually want these cars to have the character that they always had.

You know that. I know that. Do you think OP and the like know that? Believe it or not, most people cannot tell the difference between bad driving and mediocre driving cars. They are too busy checking their twitbook instafi account to pay attention to what they are driving.

There are several thousand lower end Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers built for every performance one. Always have been. The vast majority don't give two shits about actual performance since they will never use it anyway so as long as they have something that looks like the performance version they are happy.
