But in a specific subforum dedicated to enthusiasts of a specific car, you will find that people will generally view the car more favorably.

Yes you have lol. Otherwise no one would have a problem with it. It's what you've been doing for most of these threads. Even since january 2020 when the first prototypes were spotted, you were on about it, and I remember people calling you out back then only for you to backpeddle and talk about how you're just taking on some holy crusade to combat "misinformation", as if motortrend was your antichrist.

As I said before I'll keep an open mind, and If it doesn't live up to the hype, I'll change my point of view.

As for your last suggestion, I don't spend nearly as much time on this forum as you do. It's very apparent how ubiquitous you are, and I daresay you are a pretty popular person here. Not one day goes by where I don't see Ned Flanders wearing a beanie whenever I look through these forums. Nothing wrong with that of course.
LOL DUDE!
You are bitching and moaning more about me than I have said about the car.

The Clickbaits are a scourge! They spew bullshit that the youngun's hang onto as truth. They are constantly wrong but as soon as the car comes out and they change everything they have said their fans are all like "LOOK THEY GOT IT BANG ON".
Again you want to censor my comments because they don't jive with your little picture of the world. That is not how the world works as you will learn someday.

BINGO! I think you nailed it. They are forcing lines on it that just don't work with each other. Either round it off or make it angler but don't mix the two.

You should see my inbox messages from multiple people who thanked me for speaking up against you TCoat, about they’ve never liked you but don’t want to say anything as they know you’ll stalk them to and harass them. You’re an internet bully, but a fucking ***** in real life.

I’ve since moved over to another forum anyhow which is full of adults who can have actual discussions, and different opinions, not high school tweeny bopper BS that goes on here.

Keep harassing people who dare to have different opinions than yourself, you’re the epitome of an internet keyboard warrior. Look at how many posts you have lmfao, you DONT EVEN WORK, you spend all day on this forum, you have no life, literally

You won’t have to worry about my facts & opinions that get your panties in a bunch any longer, I will never return here at all after this post to read or engage any further. Now go ahead with more pointless posts against me that I won’t ever read, but will give you nerds the internet attention you so deeply care about!

I wasn't going to reply but felt like I should say something (even though @Tcoat doesn't need anyone to have his back on this).

Tcoat made the trip out to California all the way from Canadialand for our Norcal86 Summer Kickoff and I had the pleasure of giving him a ride back to a friend's house afterward. He's one of the nicest dudes on this forum and IRL, and that's not just because all Canadians are nice.

I've never met you or interacted with you, but just from seeing your brief exchange with other members of this forum I can tell you're somebody I hope never comes out to a meet. You are not welcome.

Y'all need to chill and take your shit elsewhere.

I had in the back of my head you saying your next car (post #2 86) was going to be a Jag. Am I remembering that wrong, or has that changed?

That is indeed my plan for a retirement car but that is still 5 years away. If I had to replace my 86 today or even next year whatever I get will be a year round , moderate miles (don't go as far as I used to) DD and I would not want to do that to a Jag.
As long as the Type F is still an attractive car (and not electric) in 5 years it would still be my plan.

for the record, i don't pay any attention to where posts are located. i click on any title that interests me, like picking up shiny marbles, read, and then regurgitate whatever lightly censored thing comes to mind. you don't want to let the voices all the way out though.

@Tanstin : We are here to make positive discussions and express our likes and dislikes. The people being here for some time, know that the design team was changed and there was the risk factory to loose the continuity between the models. In fact it was a relief seeing that most basic principles were preserved, but on the exterior design they went a bit too far to differentiate it. First generation had more classic and neutral lines and there was always the option of an aero kit for the ones demanding something more. Overall, a smart move which is now somehow lost. We'll see if the new design direction will be for the better or the worse depending on how customers will react, but for the time being there is a reason to express these worries.

Others have also expressed the same thoughts should they leave as well.
If people would stop telling me that I am wrong and should like it then I will stop saying how horrid it LOOKS. I have never said one word about the rest of it other than it is premature to celebrate it as "the best engine ever made".

Maybe you should get outside of the hype threads and take a look at the other contributions and participation I have in the rest of the forum. Or will you just go and look for things you don't like anyway?
Its infinitely amusing to me that you responded to this comment even though were not referenced in it

Carry on.

Dude the posts preceding it left little doubt who he was talking to. The passive aggressive schoolboy method of mentioning without actually mentioning is familiar to me. We have a whole thread that is basically that subject.

The overall shape/proportions are the same. As for styling details, I'd say the 2nd gen's front fenders are more "classic" and neutral, vs. the 1st gen's somewhat gimmicky (as they're totally unnecessary, the fenders are already way above the front tires) fender bumps. 1st gen headlights are styled to look more aggro/angery vs. the simpler/cleaner 2nd gen lights. 1st gen has that giant mouthguard, hardly "classic"! 1st gen has fake vents up front on either side of the grill, kind of "mecha" in styling, vs. 2nd gen's *real* vents, with more organically shaped surrounds (overdone a bit IMO but not that bad). 2nd gen fender vents behind the front wheels are functional and to me are well integrated and not overdone. I hate these on most cars but they don't bother me here. Meanwhile the doodads on the sides of the 1st-gen front fenders, they serve no purpose. The spats in front of the rear wheels are another source of controversy but again, they don't bother me and fill in the (to me) awkward gap between the door and rear wheel opening (very little gap there on a proper 2-seat FR sports car), and again somewhat functional (though I can't imagine they do a whole lot...). I think the front fender vents and the rear spats work well together aesthetically.

Overall, I think both gens look great, not perfect. I give them both a solid 8/10. As far as I'm concerned, better to have some changes rather than just rehash exactly the same thing.

I hate most things, but honestly I find the new design to be cohesive, clean and maybe a bit *less* boy-racerish looking vs. my '17.

FWIW I was no fan of the BRZ's styling when it came out. Fenders too high, mouthguard, awkward-to-me rear wheel placement (too far aft). But when the '17s came out (gen 1.2?), I loved it. Who knows, 2nd gen may yet grow on some of ya, or maybe a 2.2 version in a few years...
