I like the designer explaining the car's inspiration. However, I can't help feeling that the 2000GT looks way more classy than the GT86. The GT86 looks more ricer sporty where as the 2000GT looks Gentleman sporty.

i do not see how the vents are customizable...without cutting a hole underneath it.

Look at the engine bay, it doesn't lead to the outside through the side vent.

Funny how pro Subaru articles/journalist sorta downplayed Toyota's part in making this car. As if the design is lack luster compared to everything else....

I'm sorry, but those attentions to detail were AWESOME! Can't wait to have this car.

Both sides didn't down play either side. They simply never mentioned each other, given they only talked about the parts they designed and built. It is only logical from a technical and marketing standpoint.
You can easily tell by watching their respective Toyota and Subaru engineering videos. If anything it is Toyota's fault for releasing the car publicly before Subaru did.

Whether it is the internals or the externals of a car that are important to you -you will have to decide which company did more for the car.

Love the interior- I wonder if the push start option will be standard in the FR-S? Really looking forward to seeing how much the FR-S resembles the GT86 since they were made in the same location.
Push start will not be standard on FRS. most likely will come with the RS1 edition. And no dual zone digital ac. on frs.

Is it just me? I see no part of those two cars that look alike other than 4 wheels and 2 doors. I get the legacy, but really? The only part of the comparison i bought was when he said the front isnt the same at all.

I love the GT86 design...

On the subaru end... and I NEVER figured I would say this but... I wish the BRZ was more like the BP/BL legacy race car.
This could look so cool as a fully fleshed out street car 2dr coupe:
