We had a Hennessey C7 Vette eat rod bearings with under 80km on the odometer.
It probably didn't help when the owner took delivery on a cold engine and I heard him go flat out all the way up the street upon leaving the dealer. |

Chevy Crovette Z06 and the Nur
The new z06 has unofficially lapped the nur in under 7 min. Which puts it in the peformance range (obviously in the nur environment) with the 918, P1, and LaFerrari at a fraction of the costs.

Also near Zonda R territory....
GAHHH DAYYUMMM. If that's true, that really is the performance bargain of the century. I've never been a big Vette fan but the new Z06 looks awesome and when I saw one in person a few weeks ago, my jaw dropped.

By unofficial, did you mean "completely made up?"
It wouldn't surprise me if the C7Z ran under 7:10 though. Officially that is

Sigh.....
Another person that doesn't know the power level of those cars, especially supercharged. Any of those modern V8's with prochargers or even roots style chargers are going to spin through gears, especially 2nd.... There's a good reason most of them hold off on 600 whp and not go higher because they can't keep the power down on the ground. If you have 100k to blow on this car, buy some driving lessons! |

I found it interesting where it says that Chevy offers a special discounted price to a 2 day driving school when you purchase a Z06. If that's actually true, I don't know why anybody wouldn't jump on that.
If you have Z06 money, surely you have the little bit extra to drive somebody else's Vette in a class for a couple days.
